Tire Suggestions

I was wondering what tires you guys have put on your 4Runners and have liked. I'm not looking for modified rims, lifts, and bigger tires. I've got an SR5 4WD with the origial rims. I drive 70% dry pavement 25% wet pavement and 5% Snow. Rarely go off road and that isn't anything extreme when I do. I'm not looking for a hard core offroad tire, but do plan to make a few runs up into the rockies for skiing this winter so what something a little better on slick stuff. Really, just looking for a good all around tire. I've read tons of reviews on tires, just wanted to see what people liked on here. Thanks!

Pneumatic tires offer the best in comfort and handling, but can be punctured resulting in a flat.

Given your parameters, you don't need anything more than replacements for the stock tires...

I'd consider the Michelin LTX M/S 2, Michelin Latitude Tour or Nitto Terra Grappler G2 as a replacement.

I haven't had to replace the tires on my new 4Runner yet, but on my old one (2004) I loved the Yokohama tires I bought as replacements. Geolander A/T-S. Sounds like those would fit what you're looking for. They also have the Geolander H/T G056, which is more of an "All-Season" vs "All-Terrain". Just different tread patterns. A little more aggressive in the A/T.

I help host an annual event we call the donut run.


Everyone goes out and wheels their trucks fitted with 50 mile emergency donuts or the smallest tire you can get for your rim size.

Let me just say it's amazing. Once fully capable bad ass rigs, are suddenly reduced to babbling worthless nightmares that can't do anything.
