Tires on a awd sports edition 2005 4runner

I need to get some tires for the truck. However I am not sure which tires will rub I want a true off road look (grapplers,swamp style) on the tires just do not want to have to go thru all the trouble of lifting the truck. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? I would like to find a used set that will fit my stock rims if the tires come with rims thats ok 2. I plan on painting my stock rims gloss black

I put 275/65or60R17 on my "AWD" '06 Sport when it was stock. It didnt rub unless I had the wheel cut all the way and it flexed out. Those were BFG All-terrains, so you may want to look at that. I don't believe Nitto makes Mud Grapplers in that size though, but worth a try I love mine. They are super loud and I definitely recommend filling any tire with nitrogen when you get them because I have about 30k miles on mine and they still have at least 10k to go if not more than that!

Retreaded tires during the summer should be illegal!! That glue comes apart on the semi's all the time and that is exactly why all the interstates are covered in rubber snakes!

i hear they arent as bad as they use to be, i wouldnt really buy them myself, especially for use on the highway, but id consider getting a set to hack around offroad with, no worse than getting a used set of mud tires with very few miles left on em, IMO. even when new your lucky to get 25k on a set of swamp style tires like hes looking for. when ur real short on cash sometimes ya have to go with what u can afford. at least that places mud tires tires come with a 2 year 24k warranty. besides, i just threw that out there just to see how & who would respond :lol: also, its not just retreads that have sheared off on highways,remember firestones a few years back, in fact, i had a set of cooper brothers that peeled off while driving. anyway, sorry to the OP for getting a bit off topic, try checking the classifieds on this forum, craigsliist or toyota 120, those guys are more inclined to have used offroad tires for sale, but may not be in the size u can use without lift. goodluck

Thanks for the advice funny thing I seen your truck on car domain and had you as my wallpaper for a while ha! funny stuff. Where can I get the same tint that you have on your taillights. I want to tint all of my lights light smoke. Where could I get a set of these from??? my local tire shop..Im trying to grab some used ones.

Haha, that's funny; yea I have been on Cardomain for awhile now, wish I had been on this site longer. I just bought the tint off of ebay, it has a couple cracks now but the kit was only $25 and it is film. It is the perfect darkness, IMO, cheap, comes off easy like window tint. It was a pre-cut kit and an actual company that makes a lot of different kits. It is really hard to apply because you have to use a heat gun and it tears easily. If I was you and permanent was ok I have a body shop down the road that actually paints them with paint that still lets light through perfectly; I am going to get mine redone there for $100.
