I know lots of people that have 265/75/16's on with no lift and little to no rubbing.

I personally have 265/75/16 Duratracs on mine but I have a 2.25" suspension lift so no rubbing

They should be fine. if it rubs a bit you can always pick up a .5" BL

285s will rub with stock suspension.

They'll fit....but you'll have to get real cozy with a sawzall and BFH.

As I just bought tires this week, I would completely advise against 285's without a lift. They might fit, but as soon as you turn the wheel, they'll rub and will either damage the tire, the fender, or both.

In fact, 265/75/16 is about a 1/2 inch bigger than the stock size and might rub a bit.

My best advise is if you want to go with a bigger tire for ground clearance, then you need to consider a lift.
