Hello everyone getting ready to pull the trigger on a 12' LE with NAV, should i get the ENTUNE as well or not waste my time and money?

^^ I second that. I have a '12 LE with Entune and after owning it four months I wish I had spent the extra bux for the JBL and bigger NAV screen. Entune is a gimmicky useless option in my humble opinion. But, it is the only thing I can complain about on this awesome vehicle so you can't go wrong...

2012s still have the JBL navigation system (I have it in mine).
Building on the OP question. How is the JBL system sound/perform/useability etc.
Sub in the back eats up the right panel storage?
OP- We have the entune system in my Wifes' 12'Camry SE (came with it) she enjoys it but.... don't know what it would have compared to.
If you can get a bigger screen and a better system - I say Go for it.

I dont mind the entune system. But then again i didnt have a choice. toyota markets different options to different regions and apparently northern California (Bay Area) didn't get the JBL option.
Every t4r within like 1000 miles had entune, no jbl option. In fact a dealer lookup only showed like 36 2012 4r's nationwide with jbl.
He claimed that they were holdovers from early 2012 production and that the jbl wasn't an option anymore.
of course I was told that by a toyota dealer and its not like they know much about toyota vehicles....
grain of salt i guess...
I do hope entune works with and opens up email/text/calendar access to the next apple ios. If that works then i'd be happy as a clam. I dont necessarly need a 55" HD display in my car...or suv...

Ohhh. That makes a lot more sense now. I've always wondered what people meant in other threads when they said it was no longer an option.

I use the entune with a blackberry and Pandora, works great for me. It's free for 3 years and then they charge something. I'm not that tech savvy, I assumed you had to have entune to bluetooth pandora? I'm also glad to have the rear storage vs a sub, the display audio with entune puts out more than enough bass for me. I've actually turned the bass and mid way down.

I just ordered my LE 2 days ago and the only 2 non-negotiable features for me were, 1) JBL 15 speaker system/nav/camera and, 2) NO running boards.
The option code for the JBL is [NV].

The entire nav/bluetooth setup in this thing is atrocious. The touchscreen seems to be even worse than the outdated stuff they were putting in Lexus in 2004.
If you have an iPhone and know how to use it, you'll never use anything on this thing. Maps, search, apps, etc. are so much faster that you end up feeling like a cow using Entune.

The JBL system has BT connectivity as well, and I use my phone as my main audio source. Currently using Amazonmp3, but sometime use Pandora, or other audio apps. Having an android device with BT audio is a much more flexible and useful device than a gimmicky vehicle OEM fad. Especially, when that gimmicky OEM system relies on a smart phone's data connection for connectivity.
Yes, the touchscreen sucks in both units. Resistive touchscreen? What is this 1998? The good stuff really isn't expensive, any more. I'm also pretty sure the NAV system is probably the same as an 04 Lexus. What really sucks, is there is no differential in scale display, so that when I am in downtown Atlanta, my 700' scale shows the minor roads I want to use a short cut, but when out in BFE when there isn't a major road for dozens of miles, when I zoom out past 700', I can no longer see the road I am on, just a triangle in space invaders.

I’m happy with the entune/nav system in the TE. The entune works great and I have no problem using the screen. The audio system is more than adequate. It is as good as or better than the JBL in the GS350 and I don’t have a huge sub wasting space like that in my FJ. It is not my primary nav system, I have a Montana 600 for that. I use the Garmin with the entune map at the same time. I set each one at different map scales can easily navigate while wheeling or to the mall. I like that everything is integrated into one unit as an oem setup. And with the Nav Hack I can access everything while moving. The screen is just the right size and I have no complaints. There is no way I would rip the system out to go aftermarket.

Like the nav lock-out really makes a difference with all the iThingy’s that drivers use. Remember Toy is the only mfg that locks out use while moving. If you are really worried about the nav lock I borrowed from JA, I suggest another mode of transportation.
