top end gasket set?

Well im swapping the heads out on my truck and im getting ready to need some new gaskets. The trouble is, ive been searching the internets for gasket sets and the pricing is all over the place. Lc engineering has a set for around $300 but then ive seen some similar sets for $100. Im really not sure which route to take. Any guidance? I figured I'd replace all the gaskets in the top end. Im going with a remanufactured head set so i shouldnt need valve stem seals, cam seals etc. Just intake manifold, head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, etc.

Is the new head complete that is being resurfaced, or is this a reman head from an autoparts store?

If its the second option you will need the cam seals as well as the 1/2 moon caps off the old head. Don't forget to get those if you have to return a core.
For some reason the gasket set for the 5VZ is outrageously priced, but don't cheap out on the gaskets. Felpro fits good and seals good, but the quality between those and what toyota uses is far from equal.
 
Don't have any experience with them but I've heard alot of people recommend those lcengineering kits, especially over the other cheaper brands. You get what you pay for.

Its a set from a machine shop out in california. Found them on ebay actually and the place seems pretty legit. 3 year warranty.

Ive almost got it torn down. Should i be concerned about the bottom end? Any signs to look for when i get the heads off? Compression was about 190+psi across the board. Truck has 166k on it and looks like it was a bit neglected. Sludged pretty good in the top end. Getting lots of oil in the cylinders after it sits for 4hrs or more. I just want to make sure im making the right call.. I dont want to have to do this again for a few years haha.

Based on that description, I'd suspect bad valve stem seals. Without having the truck in front of me to test, it's hard to say definitively.

Yeah thats what my dad and i are thinking as well. We'll know soon enough. Thanks!
