For those of you that use the "Torque Pro" app on Android, and want to get your transmission temp working on the App with your 5th Gen, listed below is what you need to put into the custom PID settings section. I don't think you can damage anything, but USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I am no expert on this stuff and don't claim to be.
I am not giving a tutorial here, just the most important piece of correct data as listed below for a 5th Gen 2010 to current 4Runner. I found the correct data difficult to find, and I am putting this here in hopes of helping other 5th Gen owners. I tried some other settings I found on the Web that did not work... this below DID. If you want a full how to tutorial on Torque Pro there are YouTube and other tutorials on the web to help, the crucial data below is what I had trouble finding to make this work correctly. Keep in mind that if you add spaces in the formula it will not work...
Just to be clear, this is what worked on my 2017, and should on other 5th gens. From what I researched, there is seems to be two temp sensors in the A750 trans. One I believe is Pan temp, and one is returning from the Cooler temp... change the values in the formula below from "A" and "B" to "C" and "D" and it will get you the returning from cooler temp instead of Pan temp. You can run two different Gauges in the App for both readings if you want. I did not try the 2nd sensor, because I am only interested in Pan temp for such things as checking transmission fluid level.
I have found some threads out there on this forum and others, but some of the data has been wrong or confusing so hopefully this helps anyone out there trying to set this up. Screen shot attached from App of my Gauge setup...
