Total Chaos LCA info needed / why do I need these?

As the title says I am looking for some info on the TC LCA's. I am changing my front coil-overs out and thought about swapping out the LCA's while I have it all apart. Now at roughly 2K for these units being roughly what I could add a rear locker for I am struggling with doing this. Any advice is welcome.

If you are trying to fit a tire larger than 285's you might need them.
If you need a high caster setting you might need them.
If you just have money to blow you might need them.
Otherwise you don't need them.

Thanks for the info, I already have +4 from the TC UCA's so the added caster is not a must.

Just wanted to make sure these were not a weak component that needed changed out.

If you bend the stock UCA you have bigger problems than that lol.

PSA: Some of the guys (@kccarguy esp lol) are "beefing" up certain systems (suspension, electrical, etc) but at the peril of harming more expensive components. There is always going to be a weak link in any system. If you upgrade every single component there will STILL be a weak link in the upgraded components! Couplings and bushings should always be the weak link in suspension and drivetrain for example. So before upgrading, always think what the upgrade could do to other components. The guy who wanted to run 37's was going to eat CV shafts. He could upgrade CV shafts but then what would he break?

I run the TC LCA's and I still can't really figure out the application for a replacement, stock length LCA. The integrated skids are nice, and they make for a much smother surface to drag across rocks than the stock units. They also provide a bottom mount point for a dual shock setup, another nice feature if you need that capability. Aside from that, they're big and heavy and look rad, but do you (or anyone else for that matter) really need them? If you have to ask, then you don't need them.
Besides, if you put on race truck parts, you're going to get race truck noises. The bushings are noisy, no matter what kind of grease I use or how often it is applied. And the uniballs, while stout, require maintance and are considered to be a consumable item in that they will eventually need to be replaced.

I run the race lowers with dual shocks. I have a writeup on my blog dirtroadtrip.com in the "trucks" section. Basic benefits are a stronger, serviceable arm with a secondary shock mount. The race version is a couple hundred bucks more and weighs only like 16 pounds each. Plenty strong still - I've beat mine on rocks no issues.

Spindles? Thirds? Drive shafts? This is so true which is why my spreadsheet of "if I SAS" is so long it makes me chuckle...doesn't mean I don't want to do it though! Was talking to LT about upgraded axles today... Yeah, every time we beef something up we move to the next thing.

Yep, you just end up moving the point of failure down the line.

The cost basis of SAS vs LT is only differentiated by what level of OCD you have. The LT front could really easily get to 6500$ the SAS has barley bought the front axle if your going custom front end.
