OK im looking to use my 4runner more for speed and off road im not a skilled at towing so i want to remove to tow hitch my question is how hard is it and will it improve gas mileage. Also what are other things that help with aerodynamics and gas mileage.

It probably won't be noticable at all gas mileage wise. But could increase your deproach angle off road wise.

It will take off around 50 lbs. Remember that the hitch is a stock skid/ slider. It will connect with rocks before getting your spare or rear bumper.
 
I took mine off for a while and then put it back on after doing my lift, it does increase clearance, and reduces rear sag too, however it does provide protection against the rocks, it would be nice if it was actually part of the bumper though.
 
Buy a Corolla if you're worried about gas mileage.

You're driving a relatively underpowered brick on wheels. Very little will affect gas mileage in terms of removing weight.
