Tow shackles universal?

I use 3/4" shackles for most of my recovery work. Most of them have a 4 3/4 ton WLL, some have up to 6 3/4T. For 4runners, this is a safe size unless the rig is totally buried in mud. The recovery point is just as important that it is solid.

I also carry a couple smaller ones that fit some tie down points on some cars. I'm more careful with yanks so I don't blow them out.

Hey is there a way too bolt them to the frame without the mounts? I was thinking about this but would that be a good idea?

There is a buddy who makes mounts that replace the front tow hook mounts for use with 3/4" shackles. For the rear you could pick up a tow bar with a mount for a 3/4 shackle, its not as ideal as having two different pull points but its the simplest way to have a sturdy recovery point without going with a plate bumper or welding to the frame.
