Towing 2014 Corolla w/2012 4Runner

I have a 2012 4Runner. I'm purchasing a 2014 Corolla S Plus for a relative who lives 600 miles away. I plan to deliver to him by towing it with a tow dolly, sometimes called car caddies.

Any advice on this, like the 4runners ability to tow this type of setup?

Actually saw a 4th gen 4runner towing a slightly older camry today. It seemed to be holding up fine, I think you should be okay too if you watch it.

Couldn't really see the exact setup, but it looked "normal".

Shouldn't be any issues with it on a tow dolly.

You won't have any issues.

Those tow dolly's wag a lot when unloaded though due to the ultra short length and the low tongue weight. If you have to drive it unloaded for any distance just be careful.

While I haven't used my 4runner to tow (YET), I have used a tow dolly numerous times for extended differences all over the northeast- towing with a couple full size trucks and my old Xterra.

If you're going 600 miles and returning- I'd recommend doing a uhaul oneway rental. Even if I owned the dolly, I wouldn't want to drive all day with that thing behind me empty. They rattle, shake and bounce empty. It's just annoying... But maybe I'm just being a baby.

Otherwise you'll be fine. Just get a good run on hills and try to keep your speed consistent and things will go great! Have fun with it!

No problems. I have towed my 65 mustang on a trailer. 98 Taurus on dolly,03 T4R on a dolly all with a 07 V8 T4R. If you have a compressor and have to tow the dolly empty, let the tires down to about 10 to 15 lbs. air them before loading the car.
