Toyo Open Country A/T II

I'm just about to pull the trigger on some new Cooper Discoverer AT3s. The only other tire I was considering is these new toyos. Has anyone found anything about their performance? I've been searching like crazy and can't find any professional reviews. There's a bunch on how great the coopers are (and I have past experience with the old copper a/t), they're awesome. Any opinions or info would be appreciated.

I saw those a few weeks ago. They apparently just came out. From what I've read, they perform just like the OC Is, but have a more aggressive sidewall, and better warranty. It was a toss up between those and BFG Rugged Terrains for me...I went with Falken Rocky Mountains!

I think I'm getting ready to buy those new A/T II's. They look pretty good, and you can't beat the price. I need new tires for my 4runner and for the wifes RAV4, and with tire prices continuing to go up, I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy both sets right now.

I just haven't seen anything official on their performance. If they're the same as the at 1s then I'm def going with the coopers. Plus they are American made and cheaper.

I hear you. I would consider the Cooper's, except they look the least aggressive from an aesthetic standpoint. I like the aggresive look of the Toyo's better.

I'm going to buy the Toyo's tomorrow, hopefully get them on the truck in the next couple weeks. I'll update with pictures and impressions.

How do you like the Falken's? THey're my other option besides the OC AT 2's.

I love them so far. They have hardly any road noise, balanced well, and are wearing great. They're D rated, so not as stiff as the Es I had, but a little more durable than P rated. I took a 3 hr trip up tp Chicago and had absolutely no problems. and its been raining like crazy here the last few days and they're doing great...haven't had any slipping or any other problems.

I ordered these and wheels, and tires for my wife's car (Escape at the time) through Discount Tire Direct and they threw me a hell of a deal. I'd give them a call and see what they can do for you.

i agree with the looks of the toyos, and thats the only reason im even considering them. i was set on the coopers until i saw the toyos. theres just too much good stuff to say about the coopers and i cant find anything on the toyos....got to get them soon tho so ill let you know either way and post some pics

I had never really considered these tires, until today. I went to my shop to talk to them about the Nitto Terra Grapplers. At this point in my tire search, I've done soooo much research that I'm more confused now than I was before I started looking.
I explained that I was looking for an aggressive looking AT tire, that performs well in all conditions and isn't too loud at highway speeds. Oh, and I wanted them to last over 50,000 miles and not break the bank.
The guy at my tire shop had good things to say about the Nittos, but said they pale in comparison to the Open Country AT IIs. He told me that he put them on his car, his ex-wife's and his brother's because his kids ride in all of them and he want them to be safe.
I thought that was a pretty good testimonial. He also mentioned they come with a roadside protection and free replacements for the first half of their life. I asked him how long I can expect them to last. He told me 80,000 miles is a realistic expectation. Oh, and they're less than $200 each.
I think my mind is made up and I'll have a set on my 4Runner soon

They seem identical in most respects so it will probably come down to preference and price. I recently picked up the AT/3 and welcome the change over the stock tires. I've had Toyo tires before and had a good experience.

Keep in mind there is a $75 Visa rebate offer on the AT/3s right now. GL!

I just ordered a set of LT265/75R16's, load range C, white letter. They should be here next week, and on the truck shortly after. :bigok:

Here's a shot of the Falken's I got...

I'd say they're close to the Toyo OC IIs...all-terrains that have a slightly more aggressive look. They come with a 50k warranty in LTs.

Mine arrived today. Great looking tires. Not quite as aggressive looking overall as the Duratrac, but more aggressive than almost every other A/T. I'll get them mounted this week hopefully and post pictures.
