The P version of the ATiii is quiet and rides very nice. The x-at is a 10 ply tire and extremely heavy in 285 70 17, if that matters. I believe it's 63 pounds but extremely tough, according to the videos I have seen.

I was surprised. I actually called yokohama and asked them about the weight and size. The weight was correct and they are just a tad over 33 inches. The 265 is 32 inches and upper 50s on weight. Toyo has a good return policy and a great snow rating. I know many like ridge grapplers. I am keeping my toyos. No issues.

One thing to add, there is a very very slight roar you can hear but it isn't noticeable to me. I thought my OEM duellers were just as loud only different. In almost all the video reviews I watched it was mentioned. It's not a deal breaker but I do want to be totally honest. My P rated 285 are 46 pounds. With the FN wheels I am one pound less per corner than the OEM set up.

Saw that Discount Tire Direct website has $110 off a set of AT IIIs this week. Ordered a set for my daughter's Xterra. Reviews are good for them, so hoping for good results.

Toyo makes Nitto - the Toyo's are their top tier tire, Nitto is their entry/mid level.
Toyo's are excellent tires.

Not AT3 but I had Toyo AT2's. Quiet on pavement but aggressive enough off the road.

I went from 265 C-rated Wildpeaks to 285 E-rated X-AT - noticeable difference in feel, with less difference in noise. They have a little hum at all speeds, but drive very nice on and off road. Full disclosure, I also went to much lighter wheels, at around 24lbs - before them, the X-AT felt pretty damned heavy in comparison, which I imagine all tires would have. FWIW.
