BF Goodrich KO2 'C' load:
45.2 lb/tire; 15/32" tread depth; 50k warranty
Toyo Open Country A/T III 'E' load:
48 lb/tire; 16.3/32" tread depth; 50k warranty
Toyo is $6 more per tire, but they have a trial period of 500 miles or 45 days. Might have to give them a shot first.

I considered it, but ultimately went with the Yokohama A/T G015 LT 265/70R17 E.
I had the Toyo A/T II, and wasn't pleased with some aspects of them. Same with the BFG A/T K02 I had. Very pleased with the Yokohama's so far in snow, wet, and on and off road.
Supposedly the Toyo A/T III's are improved over the Toyo A/T II's for wet and snow performance. So I'd choose them over the BFG's if those are the choices.

I have about 10k miles on my p-load 285's now. Still nice and smooth and snow performance is about the same as the 265 grabber ATX's I had on it before. I have had them in the dirt and they performed as expected. Unfortunately they are cupping pretty badly though so they are no longer quiet. I have rotated them twice. But that's simply because I had the local town fair tire (who couldn't get these to balance I took it to Toyota for a road force) can't seem to figure out how to align it. I need to get it on the rack at my work and do it myself. It's got probably a degree of negative camber on each side from the looks of it. Yet their printouts all looked to be "perfectly in spec"

+1 for the Yokos. Love these tires across the board and coming from KO2s, I can’t understand why everyone loves them so much.

Did you air-down them? Any mild rock-crawling experience? Do you have photo of external sidewall?

No pics and I didn't air them down. Mild rocky New England trails only. Blasted through 2 feet of unplowed snow with them for about a mile last week.
The biggest thing that impressed me about these was how good they were on the road. And that continues. Mine are a bit noisy due to a poor alignment but the handling is REALLY good for an A/T tire. And most of us spend a lot more time on the pavement than anywhere else.
I've aired mine down and took them off road but I'm not sure if I have any pics of it. If you want I can air them down tomorrow and snap a pic, just let me know what PSI you want. I ran about 17psi.
Combo sand/sharp rocks on them, no snow or rain yet

I've read in rain they are good and in snow - meh (so as other AT), so that would be enough for me (not too much snow here in PNW).

I have some projects going on tomorrow so I'll take a pic with one down to like 17psi. The side wall tread is the only questionable area. We have some very sharp gnarly rocks out here, it's a constant issue with my mountain bike.
My tires are 285/70/r17 121/118s 10P.R. Load Range E on 8.5" rims

Is on-pavement ride very stiff?

Out of curiosity - but for those running the ATIIIs, what tire pressure are you running (on the road) ?
I had a ton of stuff done all at once so it's hard to compare, but it rides great considering I have the opposite of what people suggest for a cush ride. icon stage 7 w/ kdss. I think the shop mentioned they don't sell the P loads
Right now I do 35 psi on the street but can probably go closer to 40. I've gone down to 12 psi on them but usually do about 17-18
37 psig on road, but running LT287/70R17 C

Just quickly reporting back:
255/80/17's on Pro (sema) rims. Performance is really great on snow/ice. Look great, not noticeably louder, and ride is minimally noticeable to be stiffer/bumpier.
They do rub in reverse with wheel turned, so I'll need to do some trimming.
