I'm waiting for the class action lawsuit so I can join in and get my $5 settlement. Maybe I'll take it into the dealer and demand a replacement due to poor quality control after 20 years.

$1.89/20 is less than $1.07/10, $1.07 x 2 = $2.14

I also love the plastic ties for vehicles that are a little "tweaked" where the grill normally would align with the holes and it does not. If I know that I'll be removing the grill again soon I'll just use 2 plastic ties. And you can always use only silicone seal to bed the grill's attachment fixtures...………

It's a long boat ride from Shanghai. Delivery sometime in August. There are clips available on ebay for ~$0.22/ea shipped from within the USA. That's twice the price, but better odds that you will see them before you forgot you ordered them. Plus, you'll have plenty to share with your friends.

Could it be that y'all are missing the little metal clips that fit over the headlight bracket arms on either side? The metal bits are visible in post 53 above ^
Here shows those pieces missing where the red circles are, there should be a metal piece with a hole on each one. Without them the holes are too big.

Thanks for your concern and the heads up about the metal clips that fit over the headlight bracket arms. I just double checked for these metal clips, even though I knew I had tried these new clips in the middle of the grill insert openings yesterday to no avail. I still have my metal clips, so these ebay clips are definitely junk.
The link to the exact listing I used and a photo of the packaging is at the bottom of my post. The red circles are where the differences lie. Genuine ones say "Bl" or "BF" not "Al" and under quantity it will say "10" not "1". I also noticed the OEM ones have a logo on the left side. The new ones I just ordered don't have this logo on the packaging either, however I read customer reviews and a few 3rd gen owners left feedback saying they work and I used the same seller.
It's just messed up the seller I went with actually uses a photo of a package that is different than what I received. They also use the word "genuine" in the listing title and description. And has a table showing all the different Toyotas it will work for. I know it's just $5 but I still messaged for a refund before leaving any feedback. We'll see if they reply.

A couple of show n tell pics of clips I know are good-not sure if it'd help anyone but for whomever wants a reference
I bought these, but I'll also pull the good ones off a destroyed grille at the junkyard, and only off the grilles nobody would be able to use.
