Toyota museum. What's wrong with this picture ?

and no, their is nothing wrong with the extremely good looking man standing next to the suv. I'll fill in my synopsis of the museum after.

That plastic clad edition should have the big ugly bumper instead of the chrome one, or someone covered it with plastic cladding without changing the bumpers.

That plastic cladding is for the Limited addition Runners. I think the "fat lip" bumpers you mentioned came out in 2000. So this is a 1996-99 Limited model.

I agree with Mphudak that i think it's the wrong wheels.

It was a cool museum overall. Vintage fj's, concept cars, historic models, Ivan Stuart's trucks, race cars, lots of land cruisers, good stuff. But as a mildly obsessed t4r fan, I was very disappointed (my wife disagrees with the mild part).
Only 1 t4r in the whole museum that's has over 150 toyotas! I think they had 12 corollas... Who cares... Their should be a shrine to the 3.4, the greatest engine ever made! The gen one t4r should have been in the center on a rotating stage with spot lights and bikini clad models draping over it... The 3rd gen should have been climbing all over the other generations demonstarting its obvious off roading superiority. Maybe I'll apply for museum curator and fix these obvious problems.

Ya, worth checking out if you're in the area. Really had some cool stuff... Including 3 or 4 2000gt's in mint condition. Maybe I'll start A t4r museum, just so they get their proper representation.
 
Quite strange that they didn't have a Sport Edition or Highlander.

12 corollas is excessive, but it's understandable knowing that the Corolla is their bread and butter.

Just from the vehicles we can see, I assume they are displaying the first model year of each respective model.

First year 80 series
First year 100 series
First year 3rd gen

Yes, but no 1st gen t4r, no second. They had every gen of toyota truck, and land cruiser. Just a lack of t4r rep. I did talk to the curator and she did recognize they need a larger t4r collection.
 
I went to Future island in Tokyo and went through the Toyota museum there. No 3rd gens but the robot was running around. You could sit in the GT1 and mr2 gt race cars. The really epic models of toyota were there and had a lot of history on Toyota itself. Didn't know there was one in America
 
Those are the correct rims for that year they came with all the ltd. Also that body style was from 1996-1998. 1999 was the 1st year for the different front bumper.

AFAIK, the 5 star 16's came out on the 99 Limited, before that the limited had split 3 Spokes.
