Toyota museum. What's wrong with this picture ?

Those are the correct rims for that year they came with all the ltd. Also that body style was from 1996-1998. 1999 was the 1st year for the different front bumper.

1996 Limiteds most definitely have 16 inch split spokes. It's neat that they have these trucks at the museum, but as others have said I guess they're on a bit of a tight budget as those are nowhere near museum quality. I'd expect at least model year correct wheels and some flavor of OE-spec Goodyear Wrangler tire (RT/S was factory tire IIRC)

Actually the museum was very well funded. The pic didn't do it justice. The green LC in the museum was literally the only one that was not museum quality. 150 vehicles, concept cars, race cars, super cars, all in fantastic shape. Worth checking out.... As I said just needs more t4r rep!!

It doesn't make sense to have a Toyota museum without a 1st gen 4runner! 1st gens in good condition are a thing of beauty. Did they have a Trekker? The precursor to the 4runner.

Back when the 3rd gens were new on Dealer lots ('96-'02) I looked at them on a regular basis. All of the ones I looked at, had either the Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, or Bridgestone Dueler tires.

When I bought my '97, it had the Goodyears. There was an identical 4Runner on the lot that had the Bridgestones. In hindsight I wished I had picked the one with the Bridgestones, because the Goodyears were absolute crap, that would not balance. The Dealer tried twice, and I also tried. They proved to have uniformity issues.

You got it! Pristine 96 limited with diff lock... But in a toyota museum, should have had the split spokes.

I picked up on that too. Did they have any 70's Corollas? I "helped" my dad buy a red '73 new.

I might be willing to donate my 1st gen to them for $10k or so. (it's not really for sale).

I'm pretty sure they had every generation carolla. It's in Torrance ca. Didn't know it was there, just happened to find it on trip advisor. Worth the visit if your out there.
