I was actually raised on Toyotas. My mom had a 1976 Celica GT she bought brand new, and my dad had a 1980 Toyota 4X4 truck, also bought new. When we moved to this garbage ass state (GA) from SoCal, they sold the truck and brought the Celica out here. After 20 years, my mom wanted to get a new car and give me the Celica. I told her no, because I was young and a complete moron. I still kick myself for not taking that car! There was nothing wrong with it, only 140K original miles in 20 years, always serviced by a Toyota dealership. She ended up selling it to her Service writer at the Toyota dealership.
Sad to say, but now I am the only one with a Toyota. My mom and dad went to the Toyota dealership to look at new Celicas (at the time, 96), and waited around for 20 minutes with no help. When they went to get in there car because they were so pissed, someone finally said something, and my mom's response was "we have been waiting for 20 min for someone to help us. Forget it, I'm going to by a new Accord." She did and she still loves it to this day. My dad has owned a 93 Rodeo and an 02 Rodeo and loved them both.
I have one of each of the Japanese big three and I wouldn't get rid of any of them, unless maybe I bought a newer 4Runner.:biggrin2:
