Nice, I thought Amsoil had a WS equivalent but I couldn't find my Amsoil catalog. Which fluid are you using, the Signature Series Fuel-Efficient or the OE stuff? I think I'd rather get the Signature because of the extra protection but it's $3 more a qt. Lol.* I'll have to contact my Amsoil guy tomorrow and see if he's got what I need. I actually love Amsoil and use it in my Atvs, Supra and gonna start using it in the 4runner. Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.
Btw I hate these "sealed" transmissions, I don't like doing drain and fills and doing a complete flush is a PIA because of the lack of a dipstick. Why Toyota Why....... Lol.

I tried Valvoline Max life in my Subaru Legacy and found that it didn't last as long as other ATF fluids I've ran in that vehicle in the past. I noticed it started getting dark around 15k and at 20k needed to be changed. For a extended life ATF fluid that didnt seem like a long interval. I am a fan of Valvoline but just not their Max life ATF fluid now that I've used it. I have had great success with Amsoil products and will give their Signature ATF fluid a try and see how long it lasts. My Amsoil dealer can get me a 2.5 gallon jug of the Signature ATF fluid for $86 or $8.90 per quart. Which is very cheap for this ATF fluid. I checked out a couple local parts stores and they both wanted $12.50 a quart and $120 for the 2.5 gallon jug. So I'm saving over $30 for the 2.5 gallon container and almost $4 a quart. Not bad imo. Hopefully I'll be able to get most of the 11 plus quarts of Toyota WS fluid out of the trans so I can get that crap out and the Amsoil goodness in. Lol.

The bottle only says "AMSOIL Low Viscosity" and that is it Toyota WS compatible. Unsure if it is equivalent to Signature or OE as I purchased it a few years back.
Possibly @Top Shelf Synthetics has some input?

What's wrong with the WS ATF in your 4runner? Im getting at don't fix what's not broke on this one.

I was thinking of using the Amsoil, but I was able to get the WS for a bit less and the OEM fluid has held up in my transmission for 124,800 miles without issues - it's cheaper, OEM, and works. 12 qt. OEM fluid exchange for under $100 - worked for me.
+1 for OEM
I'd try Amsoil Signature if it was less expensive though - or better, if they gave me 12 quarts to try out and write an un-biased review, of course. :heh: :typing:
