Toytec 3" coils+5100 at .85 perch?

Ok, I'm tired of searching for the answer I'm looking for so shoot me.

Is anyone running Toytec's 3" front coils on 5100's on the .85 perch? I have this setup but on the 0" setting and I'm not happy with the front lift...it doesn't sit level. Will kicking it up a notch (pun intended) get me more than 3"? Toytec says 4runners can't get more than 3"...are they right? I have LR UCA's as well.

I'm running Superflex 2.0 (non-HD) w/5100 in the rear. Stock bumpers front and rear. And I have the tire rub issue too. 285 Cooper ST Maxx's, 1.25" spacers, 4.75 BS/0" offset on the wheels. How is it that some tires rub and others don't on a 3" lift? My tire shoulders are pretty aggressive so I'm guessing that's why.

Ahh, the question which gets asked quite a ton. Don't worry, I'm not chastising you. I once had the same question. There's a few things at play. First, and easiest cop out answer is that despite the fact we all have 4Runners, everyone's truck is different. Hell, my buddy has the same lift as I do, same settings, same wheels and tires, and he has no rub, whereas I do. Second, the angle your caster is set can cause, or alleviate, rubbing. Third, your wheel/spacers can cause rubbing issues. The further out your tire/wheel assembly goes, the larger the arc of its travel. Recall that the pivot point, when viewed overhead, of your wheel assembly is not the center of the wheel itself, but at the inner portion of the wheel hub (I might be a little off on the proper name).

You can get more than 3" of lift, but it's not recommended, as it'll stress your CV axles too much, and you'll reduce their lifespan. I can't answer your question about the particular parts you have though, sorry!

In my non-expert, non-professional opinion, with no experience with your particular lift kit, I'd say you could do the 0.85" perch, but I'd make sure I had a diff drop kit and could get my alignment in proper spec. Even then, I'd be worried that it would adversely affect my handling and ride quality up front. But it's your truck, and if you don't like it when you do the change, you could always go back to the lower setting.

another non-expert opinion to piggyback [MENTION=107760]salong53[/MENTION] : you can probably get away with it but a diff drop would be recommended, the LR UCA should be able to get you adequate caster

this guy installed his all the way at the top notch, and although the stance looked good he comments that the ride quality is sh*t. he was much happier ride-wise after bringing it down to the 0" perch

veet skeet installed 2" OME 885's with bilsteins on the 0.85" perch. different setup that yielded him about 3" using a diff drop and LR UCA's. (post #17 for profile, post #20 for CV angle reference)

I forgot to mention that I do have the diff drop installed. I'm going to step it up to .85 and see how it works. Right now the ride is good and don't want to get too much worse. Thanks guys for the input! I wish I could buy you guys some beers

Your wheel spacers are definitely contributing to rubbing. Lift won't fix that, especially at full stuff. So, then the question is why lift it just to do a diff drop and lose the clearance you just gained with the lift?

Did you ever adjust it to .85? I am in sorta the same boat. Ever since I added my GOBI, I am getting a ton of rubbing.
