It's best to have the panhard bar parallel with the vehicle at normal ride height. That's the most neutral position to have it. In other words don't take measurements when you still have the cargo area hot tub still full of water.
The more angle you have on your panhard bar the more bias you put on the geometry. With our third gens the bias pushes the rear axle to the driver's side. Especially when you stuff the driver's rear tire.
With a level bar the axle & driveshaft gets pushed & pulled to both sides but it's the same amount of movement to the driver's and passenger's side.
You want your panhard adjusted so that the rear wheels track where the stock ones did with a factory set up. In other words centered to the vehicle.
Probably the easiest way is to use Pythagorean's theorem. 'Member that junk? Not me, I'm pretty sure I was staring at this cute girl the day that was taught, her name was Julie...mmmmm yummy.
a² + b² = c²
a² is the amount of suspension lift you put on your rig. i.e. 6"
b² is the length of the stock panhard bar 37.0"
c² is the new length. Take the root of it of course.
Remember, don't include body lifts in your measurements.

Better yet, convert your numbers to the clearly superior system, metric.
b is not the hypotenuse, your math is all wrong.
The 2nd triangles a and b can be directly measured, same as the 1st triangles abc. c of the 2nd triangle then is the root of the sum of the squares a and b.
