Just out of curiosity why did you opt for the HD springs?

I am starting to ask myself the same. I figured eh, the extra weight ability would be cool. Unfortunately I didn't consider the fact that the ride quality could suffer. Live and learn. I wonder if I drove around with some weight for a while and broke them in so to speak if it would change at all.

Not sure, I have the regular superflexes and they don't seem to settle much so to speak, I imagine the HD would be even less, there was another member who had his for about a week and ended up buying the regular ones and swapping.

Yeah, once I jar my passengers backs a few times I may have to go that route. Bummer.

Unfortunately I don't have aftermarket uca's either with my 3/2(not toytec though) :cry2:but im hoping in the next few months to get a new set before I get my new tires and alignment!

I planned in my bilsteins being set at 1.75 but they needed to be raised to 2.5 and if I let it go it will really bug that I did a half way attempt but oh well it'll add another fum project to the list

As some people are learning HD springs are not really for daily use. Between my 4Runner & Landrover I learned that use the softest suspension for the destined use.

Some of us carry around some weight in the back so a heavier spring is ok, but you must match the damper to the spring.

I run the OME 895 but to control this spring properly when loaded and unloaded I had to have my a Fox's revalved slightly.

Toytec Superflex 15% stiffer
Toytec Superflex HD 25% stiffer
OME 895 40% stiffer

Understand that Toytec HD springs are intended for those whom have installed, or plan on installing an aftermarket armor bumper/tire carrier to compensate for the extra added weight. I mean, really... If you're going to have a fat ass, you're gonna need a bigger pair of pants, right? They swapped out my rear Bilstein 5125's for 5100, even though I had the 5125's installed on my Runner for nearly two weeks. Something to think about. Lol nice analogy. And if you don't have a fat ass and wear those pants anyway, things aren't going to work out exactly as expected. I get that now, after it is too late. However, I did intend on relocating the tire, just not so soon. Once you get started, you can't stop, apparently. After some thought, I do believe I will hold off a bit, ride around with some passengers and gauge things and in the near future get the CBI tire mount.

Those are certainly some hardcore springs and I am sure awesome for the right application! But at least for my sake I didn't fudge up my decision that badly!

Please elaborate on matching the damper to the spring if you can. Will this need to be done with mine if I do keep the setup? Tire rack included?

The shock or damper controls the compression and rebound of the spring. For example if the spring has a really high rate and the damper is designed for a lower/softer rate spring the damper can't control the spring as well.

Bilstein indicated their 5100 shocks are good for springs within ~10% of stock rates. But many consumer don't want to pay for custom or higher end dampers so many retailers sell the 5100's with almost any spring rate. 5100's are not re-valable.

Makes sense. I can feel that the springs are not being utilized correctly. I am going to have a lot of weight back there this weekend. We will see how it performs then.

So, check this out. I had the alignment done yesterday. This fixed rubbing on the driver side front mud flap area. However, rubbing on the passenger side still exists. I did not necessarily expect the alignment to fix any rubbing, but it appears it did.

My question is, does this mean the alignment is still off? I was thinking about calling them today and asking. It seems if it could fix one side it could the other.

For some reason they didn't give it and I didn't ask. I gave them the alignment spec sheet that came with the UCA's and supposedly they did it according to that. I will have to measure and perhaps I need to bug them about that. The guy who aligned it drove it around and was happy with it. Also, it does drive a hell of a lot better, but if I can get the alignment to fix the other rubbing issue that would be awesome.

I didn't get in to grab the report from them yet. However, I did call them up and inquired.They said the same as you, not necessarily. I went camping this weekend and took it on its first real 4wd adventure and it performed amazingly. Here are a couple pics

Damn, I love Colorado (and no, not for the weed). Was in Winter Park last December with Mrs. Preacher and the children and will be there again this Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I love Texas and the beaches, but I sure miss snow covered piney mountains!

Haha, if it is for the weed too, that is OK by me. Colorado is amazing. My wife is from Texas and I really like it there to, but Colorado has it's own charm that can't be compared. I am sure it is the same with Texas is some ways.
