Just did this as well. Grounded it directly. I no longer get a blinking light reminding me of how someone stole my spare tire. Soon, I will forget all about it.

Coincidentally, one of the sensors on my '02 lexus must have gone bad recently. Just had to do something similar to that car to clear the constant warning light. (all I had to do there is pull the connector out of the TPMS ECU - no grounding necessary).

I bought my Rig used - the light stayed on. I checked all the tires including the spare and all were ok. Took it to the Dealership and they said whoever installed the new tires before I owned it messed some sensors up - they really didn't say which one or ones. I didn't want the expense of replacing those things - I check my pressure regularly anyway.Kmvreter said:

I blew out a tire on the freeway, and somewhere in the process I think I damaged a TPMS sensor. Now my TPMS light is always blinking. I've kind of gotten used to it but it is still very annoying at times. I may try the mod unless someone else knows a quick fix for the blinking light?
If I were to replace the sensor, are they available aftermarket? I think the stealership wanted $150+ for one.

Just did this mod on my '07. Reason being is I have a bent wheel I took off the truck that I'll just replace when I get all new ones, and I'm not going to bother to pay over $100 just to get it straight.
The pink/black wire is the same one to tap just like on earlier models.

just did this on my 07 since my rims dont take tpms, light be annoying sometimes, so i just did this to solve my problem

Easier Bypass - One Connector
I know this thread is pretty old, but I wanted to add an additional note. If you are looking to just bypass the TPMS completely use a splice connector between the White-Black (ground) and the Pink-Black (indicator) wires. One connector and the light on your dash will never come on again. Just be sure to check your tire pressure regularly.

but if u use a switch, u can revert it back to stock incase u sell to another owner who is going to put some rims, u can tell them to switch it so it doenst come on

ok, now i am cornfused for some reason.
I plan on doing this in the next few days. I am no installing a rocker switch. Please verify that this is all i need to do.
1) cut the pink wire w/black stripe
2) find this stealth ground wire and "reground" it?
3) reinstall panel and call it a day.

oh crap. help me out please
Ok, so I just went down and tried to do this. Now my front cig lighter does not work and truck just clicks but will not turn over at all. all lights, raido, fans, alarm do work.
any ideas? I have spliced back the pink wire with black stripe as it would be stock.
anything else want to go wrong today

Where did you try to ground the pink / black wire?
Now that you have reconnected the pink / black wire, does your truck start?
When I did this I just grounded the end of the pink / black wire that runs up into the car to sheet metal near the glove box.

well i had a neighbor give the runner a jump, went to auto zone and now it's sad to say, but farewell OEM battery. You have served me well over the last 92,000 miles and 6.5 years.
I didn't gound anything anywhere. I cut the pink wire and had to back up the truck so I could close the garage door and that is when it went down hill. New battery in now and i will have to restart the tpms thing this weekend.
quick question. which end of the cut wire do i ground off of? the one by the box or the one that goes up in the vehicle.
also, do i just let the other end stay empty too.
