Earlier in the week the low tire pressure light came on. A couple of months ago I had a set of 265/70/17's put on. They inflated them to 25 psi (which I was going to up to 30 when I had a chance for a little more stiffness). Anyway, the tires didn't look any different. Assuming it was probably the spare, and not wanting to crank it down to check, I plugged in the computer to get a live data read.
Each of the sensors was reading 31 - 31.4 psi on all 5 tires. While a manual gauge check (with 3 different gauges) of each tire was 25 psi on all 5.
I decided to fill them to spec @ 32psi and the live data read was now 38 - 39psi.
The FSM doesn't specifically say it but mentions that the read out should be the "actual pressure."
Is it possible that the change in tire size effects the reading the sensors output? Doesn't seem like it should.
