Don't use a f_cking paper clip. Use the proper gauge wire and appropriate connectors. The same type of wire your jumping. We've talked about this before. I did this tpms bypass also. If you want to get cool results add a switch to your jumper wire. That way you can enable or disable the system if you ever fix the sensors. Nice if you air down off road a lot to turn off that dummy light. The switch installs in one of the blanks on the dash. I got a perfect fit switch from Napa for like $5. It doesn't take any extra work or time.

I would and did bypass them super easy process and also easy enough to check your tire pressures.

my '07 has original sensors. dash light has been on for a long time. putting new tires on soon. considering replacing, or not replacing. dense sensors run about $30 x 5 = $150. dealer said they would need to be programmed at a cost of $160. so, $300 bucks just too tell me i need some air in my tire??

thinking about passing, but concerned that this is not just an individual system, but possibly interconnected through the ABS module with VSC, TRAC, etc. anyone know about this?

DEALER??? Going to a Dealer is YOUR 1ST MISTAKE...Find a good Toyo Truck Shop should be your first priority.
2nd - TPMS is merely a electronic tap on the shoulder " Hey, 1 or more tires is under 29 PSI" That's it...both my 4R and Sequoia TPMS dash ununciator is lit and I live with it. Much cheaper than having to replace (NOW $50 Per) TPMS plug that is widely known today as shitty battery life with widespread reporting of lasting only 24 months..

BETTER OPTION

Get your trail tires at Costco ( No Toyo tires sadly) and when you buy the TPMS costco warranties them for years and with programming ( a handheld wand) they only $45 each.

Or do what most do, get a good pressure Guage and check them weekly\monthly and just add air\nitrogen like we did pre-90's.

My tire shop did not charge for programming.
About $150 complete.
I like TPMS and I watch tirepressure any time I want with my ScanGuage 2 which displays all 4 tires at a glance. Especially when driving 75+ on 2 lane highways with poor shoulders
Also alerts for rare nail leak.

Has anyone used A-Premium TPMS sensors as replacements on a 2007 4Runner? The price for 4 is only $65.

How did it work out?

The warranty is 3 years. For other manufacturers, like Duralast from Autozone or Autel from O'Reilly, the warranty is only 1 year!!!

The A-Premium sensors say that they are already Pre-programmed, which can cost an extra $100 at the dealer. One tire store said that they would charge $18 per tire for installation.

Has anyone had good luck doing this?
