opinion from snowland here (canada):
My last trucks were part-time 4WD. They did EXCELLENT in the snow when in 4WD, and poorly when in 2WD, even with snow tires.
The thing is, for me, the vehicles worked flawlessly during winter, because I know when to turn on and off 4WD, but wife might not know this very well.
I say, if you can afford it, switch over, and you will get peace of mind, and some nice options in bonus.
