I think it depends on the dealer. Can't hurt to ask around. You could always put 'em on the front lawn with a sign!

put em on the front lawn, well i think that might work if i lived in the south or a trailer park but probably not in california...

Discount Tire takes trades and gives credit toward new tires. . .but that may only be for those of us who live in the south (and glad we do).

Might want to watch those "in the South" comments and references to trailer parks. Lots of us are quite proud of our Southern upbringing, and we don't have tires out front...

I want to drop my Dunlops as well and get some Revo's in a month or two.

Maybe we should build rafts with the tires???

Mine has 18k miles on and the spare has never been used.

From what Im hearing from friends the south ain't no different then where Im from really, sure their are those few parts but that is everywhere, everything.

I live in a pretty good area of NY and if I left 4 tires on the lawn people would pull up and take them within a few hours, people put stuff outside their house with free signs and the stuff is gone.

I did this before I signed the papers on my sport. I found a 4runner with the Michelin Cross Terrains on it and had them switch the tires. Dealer did not care, since the Michelins and Bridgestones come on the SR5 and Limited models in a random allocation. Plus there will always be some uninformed consumer that will think it is neat to get the raised white letter tires on their SR5 model. The Michelins cost 2X as much on tire rack as the Dunlops and the Bridgestones and the Michelins are rated at the top where the others are rated in the middle by owners/users. Check out www.tirerack.com I don't know about tire trade in's I would think you would just have to go buy the tires you want and sell the Dunlop's in the paper/internet. But the 265/65/17 is a weird size and I would think tough to sell. Good luck.
