Who comes on this site and says what he did, and why? Any Dodge product is a waste of time and money. Consider who builds them. Enough said.

I know you are looking for a V8, but did you consider a Hyundai Santa Fe? My wife got a Limited over a year ago and I was skeptical but it was her vehicle, her choice. I was happy for her to get anything all wheel drive after having to deal with her crappy minivan in the snow. At any rate, I've actually been grudgingly impressed with it. It has three rows with captain chair walk through. Our kids are 8 and 10 and they fit with plenty of room in the third row for when the in-laws go with us. There have been no issues the first year. Great safety ratings as well. It's a crossover, but so are the Durangos now, so not a lot of difference there, in my opinion. Just something to consider.

So many other choices, durangos are such POS
So we looked at a Durango R/T. It seemed to check all the boxes.

DON'T BUY A DODGE. THEY STINK!!!!
Good tool for anyone looking to buy and keep past warranty. Long term quality index has data going back to 1996 on most all vehicles and makes. Sample size on 4R (4810) and Durango (4658) close enough for comparison.
4R scored 93.6 out of a possible 100.
Durango scored 62.8 out of a possible 100.
The website breaks down Powertrain, Transmission and Engine issues.
I would lease and not buy the Durango if you want to give it a try. Good luck.

Hmmm... strange, but reading threads through this forum I did not notice anyone *****ing about his/her 4Runner. There are questions, but not complains. I guess than 4Runner owners are happy
What I see wrong in most American cars (and some other countries to follow) is that they are design to be easy assembled at the production line, but not to maintain or repair. It is not right to to have to remove the engine to change spark plugs.
When I go to a dealer looking for a car, they are surprised to see me first looking under the hood then under the body before even opening the door. I walk away immediately from something that is not design "right". But it's me, other buyers may have other priorities like paint color or number of cup holders.
@OP: Good luck with the Dodge (really regardless of the model). If it survives test drive it should be good at least for the first month.:jump:
