Toyota sold 8,557,000 vehicles last year alone and I guess they figure an unused 5ft of wire and and a 10 ft of wire there and a extra connector here and there can add up to some real change. Dang bean counters!

Indeed. However, The 4runner is a much smaller portion of that number, probably one of the smallest sales totals of all models. The trail model I'm guessing is a tiny percentage of all 4runners sold, and these are the only ones without the upgraded mirrors.
