Trail trim

Hi.. I'm sure this isn't a new topic but any information is helpful.

For those who have changed the trim of their truck to the trail edition. Where did you buy your trim from?

I'm asking because I just got off the phone with the wifey and she just got into a car accident. She claims the damage is hefty, which I'm sure that just means some aesthetic damage. Instead of freaking out, I figured I would turn it into a positive experience by using the insurance money to make it a TE

Thoughts?

Edit: Added Photos of the damage:

Hope she's OK!

Conversion write-up is in the stickies.....with a link to who sells Toyota parts ,as one of the cheapest online . Big parts(like bumper covers) will have to be from your local dealer as they are too big to ship.

So your wife gets in an accident and the first thing you think about is getting a post out?

They sure breed you people different out there in CA. Bad different.

^Guess you missed where he said "just got off the phone with the wife"

I thought you swore off the 5th gen section anyhow?

Thank you to all that posted, will have to go through and figure out what I will be able to pull off along with my insurance will pay up.

I have some pictures, I will post up. Not as bad as I thought, but gives me an excuse to mod up :)... I told that to the wife so she doesn't feel bad about the damage.

Wife is OK, thank GOD! She hit a biker, he is OK as well. Bike got good damage. They both walked away unharmed. Thanks for your concerns.

I hope the baby wasn't with her?????

Funny you remember.. No, thank God again! He was at home with my mom. Cozy and comfortable.

Always with uplifting statements Johnny.
No, the first thing was I made sure she was ok and not injured.
They sure know how to breed sour patch kids in Central NJ..
Cheer up a little, it won't hurt you much :peace:

Lights

Should I just replace the lights with factory or aftermarket LED's?

Add halos?

If Ducmonsta or Philsey happen to stroll by this thread.. Any regrets on the lights?

My concern is , they would burn out quicker than factory?

Seems like a good time to go shrockworks + led bar :naughty:

Thought about that, but the ones out there aren't any after market winch bumpers that are aesthetically pleasing.

I want something to blends in.. It's a daily driver and see's more on road than off road.

Yeah but if she keep taking on bikers like boulders of the rubicon, you might need the added ruggedness. :D

They last more then twice as long as factory halogen bulbs and the HID bulbs are easily replaceable.
Lets's see pics of how bad the damage is. Sounds like you are getting several thousand back according to all these expensive mods your planning.lol

The TE headlights are blacked out.

There's actually just a trim piece that's held on by 4 screws that's flat black on the TE's and chrome on the SR5/LE's. The bucket assembly and lens are the same. Easy to separate and paint flat black once you take the lenses off.
Here's mine painted.....

Well, IDK how much worth of damage their is.
I do know that the front bumper has to be replaced and at least one of the headlights. So why not put in something that I want instead of a straight replacement.

Pics on the original post.
