TE headlights have the smoke inside rather then the chrome the SR5 and Limited have. Both if I remember right cost the same amount.

On a side note... I called our family body shop and inquired about replacing with different trim, I'm getting "I don't know if it's possible".

Here I'm thinking, if it's doable outside the shop (Harper and other guys) why wouldn't be possible in the shop :shrug:

It's definitely possible but most or all of the parts have to be replaced or they don't match up with the other model plastic part next to it.

As in ,you can't just replace the front bumper with a TE as the flares and fender liners won't line up.The flares are separate parts on the TE's and molded into the bumpers on SR5/LE's. They also take different brackets to hold them on to the fenders and it goes on and on til you see how many pieces to the jigsaw I had laying on the floor.

Ya, you might spend more $$$ up front, but it is all there.

Why did you buy a TE over a LE?

Educate yourself to the differences between a Limited and a TE and maybe then you'll get it. Not sure what your talking about with the spend more $$$ up front comment as LE's cost more then TE's to begin with. I also got all my TE plastic thrown in for free on my deal for my Limited when I bought it.

One of the main reasons I bought a LE.It's called the Torsen T3 and only available in the LE's.........Torsen T-3 Differential

I agree with Harper. If I were to do it again I would go with a Limited for the center diff. The KDSS and other goodies on the TE don't really mater to me. But then would change the look to similar to what I am working with now and other TE body parts.

I bought the LE for the full time 4WD and the other goodies that come stock on an LE.

Im will also modify to change the look (like aspects of both LE&TE) but not too extreme. Prob tail/headlamps and paint some of the chrome trim dark grey but that will depend on wheelset.

I bought the TE over the LE because of all of the STD features like: Multi-Terrain Control, Locking Differential, Blacked-Out Trim, Heated Mirrors, and most importantly: The Hood Scoop:cheers:
My TE cost way more than an SR5...but with the additional KDSS & NAV, came out pretty close to a stock LE in the end.

Thanks for the education on the Torsen T3....very interesting...is that a "mod" that could be done to an SR5?

That's up to you but I wouldn't think it would look good long term or anything IMO.The TE bumper covers sit a couple of inches higher then the SR5/LE's. Are you talking a couple of months to save up for the rear or what.

I never saw or did just the front and not the rear so I don't know for sure.

$4000.00 including the labor and paint :jaw drop:

I doubt insurance will cover even half of that. what to do what to do
