Tranmission shifts weird, but only when only when putting turn signals on!

glad to see Jason b got it resolved! so I'm having some what of the same issues, previous owner had the typical sound system with an amp and sub in the back. I spend days pulling wires that were ran fixing bad connections ect. eliminated a few LEDS behind the radio area and still having the problem when lights are on if I'm set to 55mph on cruise and hit the high beams it will unlock the convertor same thing if I'm in OD and hit the hazards button. I have no leds in the rear.

Ain't no 5th gear on the auto. That's torque converter lockup. Still 4th gear, but without any slip in the torque converter, so RPMs go down. Same thing happens in 3rd if you have O/D turned off.

You can probably get it to do the same thing by lightly stepping on the brakes when at cruising speed.

So, now to figure out if it is damaged wiring or those aftermarket LEDs in various places...

I'm kind of stuck on this I've been trying so many things over the past few weeks I'm starting to forget what I have and have not done lol going to try the stepping on the brake @ 55mph any advice would be much appreciated

Time to start from the beginning and keep notes. Its kinda annoying to write everything down, but you will get a clear picture pretty fast of what is going on - and it will allow you to post more detailed questions here. Good luck!

thanks for the feedback! I understand what your saying. so I basically did start from the beginning earlier today tearing all of the interior out going over grounds cleaning the metal where they fasten to the body. trying to stumble across something. starting to lean towards the cluster being the problem after all will pull in the am and inspect. so driving home tonight I just found that with the ect power turned off it does not act up...only with it turned on. there is still some lights on the cluster that flash when using blinker though
