Trans Cooler Mount: Need Kansas 5th Gens for New Product Fitment

According to my rad support you'll only have to drill and thread the top drivers side bolt.

I'd probably use a nutsert. I already have some and the installer as part of my arsenal.

long, climbing grades found on the west coast and southwest combined with big ass tires, heavy armor and improper gearing, you end up with 200+ tranny temps. Sure, you can manual shift and keep the vehicle out of overdrive, but then you are driving like 40 mph on a freeway w/ a long steep grade with semi trucks trying to murder you in the slow lane....

Otherwise, if you're commute is relatively flat, then you will not run into this problem. Its a regional problem mainly is the best way to put it..

I frequently tow my overloaded trailer all sorts of places that can really warm the trans up

“Unfortunately not very good for the near term. After finally getting my hands on a 5th gen I see there is a lot of stuff in the way. I have a prototype bracket sitting on my bench waiting test fit but I'm not optimistic about it fitting correctly. I'll keep tinkering on it.

Mine is on the same side but offset a bit from sitting flat against the radiator. Two generic L brackets with one off the rad support and one off the front grill support. Just drilled some holes and some nutserts.

I mounted the cooler here on my 08 I haven't studied my 23 much but if I had a premade bracket I'd relocate the horns to the other side and basically mount it where the horns are. I like an air gap between the cooler and condenser.

To make any mount work on passenger side,

you just have to bend things carefully out of the way.

I have a winch mounted high and I was still able to fit a tranny cooler.

I will keep everyone posted here and hopefully we will have a bolt-on bracket kit available by the end of this year for 5th gens! Thanks for the patience!

CURRENTLY IN THE PROTOTYPE STAGE, HOPEFULLY SHIPPING BEGINNING OF 2024!

These CNC pressbroke .125" thick 5052 aluminum brackets are designed to make transmission cooler installs a breeze for all automatic transmission 5th gen (2010-2024) 4runners! These fit the Hayden 678, Hayden 698, and Derale 13613 transmission coolers. The Hayden coolers are identical in size but the 698 is equipped with an internal temperature bypass which helps the fluid get up to operating temperature faster, recommended for colder climates. Reduce wear on the transmission by keeping temperatures cooler!

I have not test fit this bracket on every single model year of 4runner. Depending on options there may be things that need to be moved out of the way. I'm waiting to hear back from customers regarding fitment for various years. If it doesn't fit your vehicle, take some pictures of the issue and I can provide a full refund.

Any fitment tests on any supercharged or with winches? I am interested in this but have both a winch, upper grill light bar and magnuson so I am curious if this still would fit.

Many thanks to [MENTION=6100]teotwaki[/MENTION] and his very gracious and detailed assistance I have a bracket design that should work for the 5th gen 4runners. I've opened up pre-ordering on my website linked below, I should be able to start shipping in about 2 weeks.

My bracket goes on the passenger side. You may have to bend the lower left power steering line bracket slightly for more clearance and also push the AC line out of the way slightly. Other than that I think it fits like a glove, all bolt in.
