Transmission/Tranfer Case issues with 2010 SR5

All I've owned is trucks, which do to my budget have all been far from luxury, and this is the first one to have this issue. I guess I'll spend the weekend with a grease gun and see what I can do.

Before you go all crazy with your grease gun, realize that over-greasing the spline will make the problem worse in the future, because you're pushing back the seal on the spline that keeps all the road cheese out of there. The seal also takes some of the play out of the joint or muffles that noise. When road cheese gets in there you significantly increase the clunks over time. The FSM had some specific warning on it or something, but it's true for all drive shafts - the FSM calls the shafts the "propeller shafts".

Look, rear wheel drive systems with the standard star axle layouts have plenty of places were things get "springy" which is where those clunks come from - the tension is released or applied. Manufacturing variances how your vehicle is used compared to the others makes some clunk more than others. It may annoy you, but it's not a problem.
