Anyone here haul a travel trailer?
I was toying with the idea of getting a used one for some summer camping trips.
I have a family of 5 though.

1995 3.0 Automatic.
How big of a trailer can I tow?

4000lbs is what its rated but i wouldnt pull anything over 2000 with 3.slow

If you plan on driving any large hills (or God forbid, mountains), I wouldn't put anything on the back that a small economy car can't handle--the 3.0 has NO extra power at highway speeds (it can barely get ITSELF over mountains, let alone a trailer).

How big of a trailer can I tow?

I've pulled the one in the picture with my 93 T4R 3.0 Auto. Wasn't too bad, and was able to maintain about 60+ mph going up hill on I-81 in PA. Even got about 12-16 mpg towing it.

I'm just scratching the surface, and kicking tires on the idea.

I was hoping for something a LITTLE roomier. We do have a Mercedes ML430. That may be what we end up using if this idea actually goes anywhere....

The benefits of a pop-up like ours is - sleeps 4 (or upto 6) comfortably, has kitchen, frig, toilet, shower, heat/air conditioning and plenty of room. Plus it's a breeze to tow, and set-up/take down. Add in a portable camp generator, and you're all set.

How big are you looking to go? Nice thing about the economy now - you can buy a used camper for a lot less than MSRP/Blue Book now.

I was wanting as large as possible. I know with the 3.Slow, that isnt very large.
I didnt know if I could go 15' or 25'. No idea whatsoever.

The benefit to the standard trailer, is we can pull off at any rest stop and jump in the trailer for sammiches without having to set up.

Another thing to consider - get a motorhome, and trailer your T4R to where you're going.
