Yup, got myself back into RC and with the new Traxxas Summit, it falls straight into my hobby and love for the 4runner.
Its pretty much a smaller scale of what i wanted in my t4r without having to spend the big bucks and worry about fu*king sh*t up.
Long story short..
The Traxxas Summit is a 1:8 scale RC.
Completely waterproof.
Remote Differential Lockers! from the transmitter i can lock front axle or both front and rear axles. of just run both in open diff!
Two speed transmission *pretty much a 4wd high and a 4wd low.. ULTRA low.. suspension flex like crazy especially from an IFS style.
This thing is a monster...
Bonus? When i go roading with the 4runner and we decide to take a break, out comes with the Summit and i can continue my trailing on a RC level.
Bonus 2? Lipo Batteries are rechargeable from a 12 volt style charger, which means i get to charge while out on the trail or anywhere i am as long as i have my truck or any vehicle with me.. You can do both wall outlets and alligator clips to a battery.
Bonus 3? For all the crazy climbs and sand and all whatever crap i cant do with the t4r since i dont have money pouring out of my pockets. the Summit WILL DO what i wish i could do!
One down fall? This is a HOBBY GRADE RC. not your average walmart bestbuy whatever stuff.. Its not cheap but in the end its way more then worth it.

Suspension on this specific RC is a flat internal adjustable COILOVER shock design. connected to Long Travel Arms that can pretty much flex the tires up higher then the top of the tire behind it.
The guts.
This is a brushed motor design that creates LOADS AND LOADS of torque..

there are videos on youtube of the summit pulling children across CARPET.
there are videos on youtube of the summit pulling fathers and childrens in radio flyers across the street.
below the motor you will see all the mini servos that move the pins for my 2 speed transmission with a high gear of 25:1 and a low gear of 75:1 (something along those lines..)
other servos for my remote T-lock differentials pretty much a E LOCKER STYLE that is activated and deactivated from my transmitter on the fly.

Spare motors, run me about $30 a pop. like i said the hobby is expensive to start, but once your in the replacements are CHEAP!
