You can still do the conversion! You just did one part first that I’m doing second. You haven’t lost out on anything. Do it! You won’t regret it.

By the way,this garnish is not a direct fit to the Center chrome bar on limited as the lower and middle section of the garnish won’t make any contact with the chrome bar unlike on the trd and SR5 where the garnish is a perfect fit.

Well you would need to remove that garnish off that chrome piece. That part can be done but it’s annoying. I have an extra Barcelona red trail bumper for sale but I’ve got someone interested in it and is local. Not sure where you live.

You will need a few more parts but you can without a doubt use the TRD garnish to complete the conversion.

You are right especially after I put extra tapes on it when I installed the garnish. I am in Alberta, Canada, so I guess your best bet is to find a local guy who wants to buy it.

Hell yeah!Lol! That's a freaking expensive piece of plastic, definitely don't want it to fly off while driving.

So the stock Nerf bars are off the truck and will soon be replaced with RCI Rock Sliders from the fine guys over at Chi-Town 4 x 4.

The RCI Sliders are such a nice upgrade from the stock nerf bars.

Since I was installing them by myself and I am no where near as strong as I used to be I decided to you use my wooden supports that I use on my Cayman.

It is amazing how many times I have used these in the last month since I built them.

They were just high enough that I could tilt the back side up and get a bolt started.

Okay as much as I hate this stuff it is a good idea to put some on the hardware as our frames tend to rust and I am sure one day I might need to remove the bolts.

I like when parts are made perfect and bolt right up.

They sit about 6" higher then the Stock Nerf bars which give the illusion that the truck is taller.

Sorry man I figured most people wouldn't understand what I was using them for. I will most likely get some comments that I should use jack stands but trust me these are way more stable then jack stands.

Looks great.
I used plastidip, although I do not recommend it.

This sounds dumb but you can get blackout tape from autozone/oreilys and do the window trim. If you do it correctly no one will ever notice.

Since those pics, I've taken all the plastidip off.
I sanded and rattled the 2 chrome pieces that are on the lower part of the front bumper cover. Looks good but took alot of effort.
I have carbon fiber vinyl I want to use on it all, but haven't had time to install. I have the tape on the rear bumper chrome. Looks decent, but I'll have to get ya a picture of that.

TRD Wheels and off-road tires

First up was to get rid of the stock wheels and replace them with TRD Rims and BFG Tires.

I am wondering if you had do any lift/suspension changes or any mod/cut out of the Limited wheel well covers to swap the Limited stock P245/60R20 tires for the TRD rims and tires? Did you install the factory size P265/70R17 tires or something larger?

I am also considering doing the Limited to TRD (Pro) front bumper swap on a 2016 Limited. Besides aesthetics is there a practical advantage to this swap? The SR5/TRD bumper appears to have a least some higher clearance and can accept the TRD Pro Skid Plate. It does not appear that this skid plate will fit on a stock Limited bumper, since it appears lower. Have you found any other advantages with your front bumper swap? Wondering if you, or anyone else on this forum still have your Limited bumper assembly or an SR5/TRD bumper assembly, since I am still deciding which toute to go, but regardless, will need to restore my front bumper due to a recent accident.

Am I correct in the observation that the only difference between the SR5 and TRD Pro front bumper is the expensive Toyota logo bar, the upper grill above this, and the black lower valance?

Nope, none at all.

If you off road your truck then there is an advantage as you will have more "approach" clearance.

The SR5/TRD bumper appears to have a least some higher clearance and can accept the TRD Pro Skid Plate. It does not appear that this skid plate will fit on a stock Limited bumper, since it appears lower.

Not sure but I don't see why it wouldn't fit.

If you were in an accident just have the body shop make the swap for you as it's cheaper then the putting the stock "Limited" cover back on. Tell them they can keep the extra money.

You are correct however the is also a black garnish on the front & rear bumper covers.

Great looking 4Runner! Did your hood come all together or did you have to buy additional parts for it? I'm eyeing a TRD hood but it seems like the scoop needs a cover or some sort of mesh panel.

I want to thank the guys at St Charles Autobody for getting me my new hood.

Very happy and the truck is getting closer to being completed.

Anyone need a stock hood.

You have to order the hood and the scoop separately and the good news is your stock under hood liner will work on the new hood.

Depending on your budget I would pick up a used Farley and you will be set for life with that bike. A lot of my friends have converted to the Farley and love as it is also a perfect all season bike.

When the roads are horrible I put the bike in the back of the truck and just lay a moving blanket down. If the roads are dry then it goes on the roof.
