I will bet you $100 and the cost of the dynos if you can show any kind of significant increase between octanes on the 4runner.That's crazy. When I dyno'd my 335i on 91 octane I got about 350 whp. I filled up on 100 octane and I got 400 whp with the same mods. I guess it must've been a fluke.
From a quick wiki "A fuel with a higher octane rating is less prone to auto-ignition and can withstand a greater rise in temperature during the compression stroke of an internal combustion engine without auto-igniting, thus allowing more power to be extracted from the Otto-Cycle."
But don't trust me... I didn't know I could consume gasoline and have energy to burn just like this ham sandwich I'm about to eat.
