Trd pro lift question

No rubbing with the Bilsteins set at 2.5". No other mods were required however this might change once I get UCAs. I foresee it rubbing against the front bumper if I push out the caster any further, so I might need to trim the bumper a little more (where it is already trimmed from the TRD models) or raise it to a full 3" lift.

I wanted more of a lift and didn't want to run spacers, hence the reason for the swap. I misspoke and these were swapped for 6112s. The Bilstein 6112 are identical in terms of shock body, piston size, and possibly valving to the TRD shocks, but gives you added lift due to the extra retainer positions.

Did you off-set the 6112's by one notch on the drivers side vs. passenger side like the stockers? Curious about your hub-to-fender measurements if you get a chance. Looks good!

I'm getting ready to do this install soon, hopefully this weekend. I will do my best to do a step by step instruction post with pics, if I have a free hand. I am doing it with a buddy, so hopefully I can get you all some good stuff to do and not to do, stay tuned.

Do you have the pdf instructions for the install by any chance?
 
They have generic instructions for rear coils and front spacers. The only difference for this kit would be for the front swapping out the perch, which slides off/on once the coil is out.[/QUOTE]

No, I left them both at the same level. Post lift I measured each side and there was no difference even with a full tank of gas. I'll measure tomorrow for you guys.

They didn't come with the lift in the box, double checked last night. I will dig around to find out about the spacer placement but at a glance it appears that the thick spacer goes on the bottom of the coil-over and the small one goes on the top. The springs will lift the rear end up and it appears that is the only component for the rear end.

You are correct. The thicker spacer replaces the bottom original and the thin one on top. The springs are the only thing changed in the rear. You don't need an instruction manual, it's very straight forward.

Thanks Simon, I'm having mine installed for me Tuesday was just curious how it all worked. Wasn't sure how just a spring would raise it two inches in the back. Is it just thicker than the factory?

I understand that TRD suspension gives you around 1" of height comparing to a regular stock 4Runner.

By adding these spacers and springs, Is the total new extra height around 3" ?
 
Today, I got an alignment done. Even though it drove straight, and had no apparent issues...... it definitely needed the alignment done, looking at the before & after numbers.

Also, before the lift, my TRD Pro was 1 inch higher in the front than a buddy's SR5 and exactly the same in the rear.

After the lift, I am 2.75 inches higher in the front than him, and about 2.5 higher in the rear.
 
Actually, on the brochure the ground clearance for ALL models is 9.6", therefore you are right.


The Pro's front suspension provides a 1" ride height increase over other stock models. So the Pro "sits" higher, but the ground clearance is unchanged. The only way to get the lowest hanging points higher, is to install bigger tires.

I need to get larger tires for mine but hard to justify it with only 3k on the stock tires unless I find someone to take them
