Awesome! Just so I'm on the same page. Did you get the lift that adds 2" to front and rear?
Yep, Got it a couple few months ago.

I have 285 and so do many others on the 7. Haven't had any issues airing down or any issues that I've read about. Discount tire even installed them for me with no problems. I opted not to have the spacers. Doing research on the spacers I couldn't find the answer I was looking for, so I decided against them.So what are your guys' opinions about the safety of installing 285's on the stock TRD 7" wide wheels?
I have the Toytec 2" kit and Spidertrax 1.25" spacers coming in this week, and I'm still debating between the 275's or 285's for the KO2's...

When it's time for me to Re-shoe, If I keep the Spidertrax I'm going with 275. If I shed the Spidertrax I'm going with 285.:hatsoff:
$350? Damn good price! If I would have gotten a quote that low, I would've just let them do it.
I skipped the spacers and have no rubbing issues with my Nitto Trail Grappler 285s. Same can't be said for one 5th Gen friend of mine, he's got 285s and is talking body chop... I blame the spacers.
Scott @ Uwharrie Off-Road Training Center is against spacers for wheeling. He doesn't like dissimilar metals interacting in high stress situations. Too much can go wrong for a little wider stance.

Just picked her up from having the lift put in
Thank you, Sir. That made the decision much easier. I'm going to be installing the Bushwacker fender flares relatively soon, so I want to make sure the tires will be filling up the additional 1.5" of tire coverage they provide.
From the research I've done, there's no risk or disadvantage to running modernized wheel spacers like Spidertrax or All-Pro as long as you do the install properly i.e. cleaned mating surfaces, red loctite, and proper torquing of the bolts in the correct pattern.
Still doesn't stop there from being different schools of thought on the matter, though! I'll report back with some pics and impressions after I install everything.
Thanks everyone for all the info and inspiration, I ordered the Toytec 2" lift and 275/70-17 KO2's. The MTR's were tempting by the look alone, but for performance I think the KO2's will be better.
I found a local shop that specializes in custom 4x4 builds, Main Line Overland in West Chester, PA. They quoted $717.50 for the lift install, tire mounting and balancing, and alignment ($522.50 for the install alone). I feel it's fair given their experience over a regular mechanic/shop, and it saves me a day of work.
Pictures to come.
Seems pretty steep. I had a reputable shop in Denver install and align for 325. As far as balancing the tires..I just took the truck back to discount since they have lifetime balancing.
Yeah, that's much less. I used to live in Denver 10 years ago, great city. Cost of living is a bit more out here, especially in the area this shop is in. Considering that and that they specialize in custom builds, I figured it would be a bit more than most places. But, that's nearly twice what you paid. How many hours did the install take?
They estimated 3.5-5.5 hours on the install @ $95/hr, so if it's on the lower end it could very well come in around $332.50.
I dropped it off at 9 and picked it up at 1. I think they had to wait about an hr for the alignment rack to open up too. It isnt very intensive so I think 3.5hrs is plenty of time. I would have done it myself but its cold here and I didnt feel like wrestling around with a spring compressor to install when I would just have to drive it somewhere to align anyway.
