I just picked my TRD-Pro up from the shop. I had the 2" lift kit from Toytech installed. I also ditched the Nitto Grapplers for BFG KO2"s 285-70-17. Here we go. I love it, perfect height, i now have to give my GF a boost to get in. This lift has provided a different viewing experience before we go somewhere. The front end diving when breaking has really improved after this kit. Truck doesnt dive as much. The ride quality has improved believe it or not. Also no tire rubbing at all. I love my 4runner even more. Love the height and look. Also Toytech is an excellent company to do business with!! Ill try to post pics soon.

Stupid question, does this lift void warranty on the truck?

It doesn't void the warranty but the dealer may balk if you are trying to resolve a ride or drive-ability question under warranty if it relates to the suspension mod. If it's that bad they may have you put the suspension back to original and then they will look at the issue if it still persists.
I just went to the dealer today to get my alignment done.
After getting the Toytec lift installed it went to another shop (arranged by fab shop that did the install) for alignment. They got it totally wrong 2x. Steering wheel was way off when driving straight.
Explained the story to the dealer and they were able to get it completely straight and aligned. It wasn't a free alignment but they didn't balk or cry about the lift saying that it will void any warranty claims.
Just be honest with them up front. The dealer puts in the warranty claim to Toyota so they are the front line to getting any warranty work done.

Worth a try.
They may charge you way more than another private off-road/fab shop. As it is where I live outside of Annapolis MD it cost $600.00 and change for all four corners of the kit. I ran out of time to get the rear springs on myself before I could drop it off for the upgrade.
I thought about asking the dealer but I have a local off-road/fab shop within a 2 mile bike ride from my house so I wanted to give a local-small-business place some work and it was convenient to not depend on others for a ride there and back.
Start developing a relationship with the service department at the dealer. Maybe small things like getting the wipers replaced and they may start remembering you. At least at that point they might be more likely to work with you in terms of running into a warranty issue after some mods on the vehicle.

Not one bit. That's one reason why I I didn't hesitate to get it. Shop around for installation. The dealers are usually pretty up there on their hourly rates.

No rubbing, even at full lock in reverse? Curious...
It's easy to say there's no rub in normal grandma-style street driving. It would be a very unwelcome surprise to start rubbing when you're working the suspension on the trails for the first time.

I will get some quotes, im in NYC so, 4x4 isnt so big where im at, not many places doing 4x4.
What kinda tire size u guys running with the trd lift?
33? 34? 35?
Did you guys add spacers?

285s is what I'm running. No spacers. I think most are doing the same.

I ran 285-70-17. Ko2s. I haven't gone off road, but no rubbing with normal street driving

I read this whole thread, it seems like a good choice BUT, how's the set up perform compared to a suspension lift? I would love to spend this minimal amount but I would also like to benefit from performance.. Is a suspension lift worth the extra dough ? I don't plan on doing any heavy rock crawling probably just some light trails..

I'm no expert in off-roading or lifts, but i think it should perform well under light off-roading. I paid extra for the TRD suspension when buying a TRD Pro, so might as well use it. Eventually, if you get serious into off-roading, a full off-road suspension is the way to go. No doubt. It has to be, but i could be wrong, a pro needs to chime in here.
Also, I was thinking of changing out the UCA's when doing the TRD made lift from toytec.

I changed my UCA for Camburg's when I got my lift. The stock ones just looked like the weakest link with the new knuckles.

um, either you are very anal when detailing, or you just haven't had a chance to drive ANYWHERE... How is it so clean under there?

This is just after I got the lift. It's filthy now and mostly white now from the salt here in the NE.
