Trd pro lift question

Stopped in my local Toyota Dealership this morning. They were great and would install the Toytec TRD Pro kit no problem. The tech I spoke with says he has done lots of lifts including his own.

He asked me what is the point of "front top plate spacer" in the lift kit. Most lifts similar to this one in general (I think) do not have this extra top spacer. Can someone enlighten my ignorance as to its advantage vs. not having it? Thanks.

Where are you located? if you are anywhere close to me I can help you swap that CV shaft out in no time. only cost you a CV shaft and a beer or two.

Installed today. Alignment and install $330 at a local truck shop. Only drove about 10 miles but the ride is great, definitely tell it is a little stiffer all the way around, especially in nose dive. Grocery store pics and other specs. I will get some better photos later. I am using the 1.5'' SAWs in the rear also have 1.25 Spidertrax Spacers. Looks awesome though I can't stop going out in the garage and staring!

That looks fantastic! Here's a question (for anyone that might know) - are you sticking with stock tire size? I'm about to put the the same lift on my 2016 TRD pro along with a Shrockworks bumper - will the shrocksworks bumper eliminate any remaining contact/rub points of concern with the bigger tires? Or is contact point on the back of the wheel well... here is a pick of the bumper (not my rig)

^^^^my original rubbing stock was mainly from the rear of the front tire, took off mud flaps and that helped some, but still had it at full lock. Since lift, zero rubbing. Tire size upgrade, yes, but not for about 15,000 more miles. To me it still looks good but I think I will go up one size when it is time to buy new.

I'm still using stock tires and taking it off-roading this weekend with it. Would like to get the 33" on there soon. Probably going with the Nittro Trail Grappler MT's, over duratracs or MT/r. I hear they balance better.

Had my Toytec TRD Pro Lift installed today. Wow, visually what a difference. The way it was intended to look IMO.

An unexpected benefit I noticed. I really could not hear my CAI growl much until I had hit 3200-3500 rpm. Now I hear her growling under her breath around 2200 rpm. It has to be because of lift, but can not give a reason outside of assumption. Was pretty underwhelmed with the CAI noise up until now. Unless I hammered down, which is always fantastic. Now much happier. Seriously, big difference.

No need for the UCAs. It's a no brainer as I've mentioned before. This kit should have come with the pro.

No spacers, I went with the skinnys to avoid spacers.... No rub, however I have only done lite off roading since I got the tires a week ago....
