KO's don't suck. But, I can tell you I have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers (285/70/17 C) and they are wonderful and will buy again.
Ya? Where you located ? Shows they are good in rain and dry pavement.. no rating for snow

Haven't tested the tires in snow so I cannot comment on that. I am in Socal.

I like my ridge Grapplers as well, but haven't had a chance to test them in the Colorado snow yet.

Please report back after the work done with pics if you can. I think I've read this thread about 3 times and I keep changing my mind about getting this done and, if I do, whether or not I should go 275's or 285's. Some say no rubbing w/285s, others say it rubs a bit -- even with the body chop/wheel well chop thing. Also, Tick Trucks is the place I wanted to take it to for the work.
Did you go with the SAW 1.5" rears or the Superflex 2"?
Will do. Kit came in the mail today, going to try and schedule next week. As for the springs I just kept the 2".... enough people on this thread that don't do hardcore stuff said they were fine ... hopefully I don't regret my decision

After doing more research I decide, if I do get the Toytec lift done I'm gonna take it to Hi Tech in Chantilly. At a minimum I want the truck leveled.

After reading through this thread a few times - yes, 285/70/17 is the biggest tire you can do after the lift. However, some have reported rubbing at full lock,..others have not. I'm not willing to have anything chopped up on my Pro as a way around that if I do get the lift, so I'll go with whatever the shop says to do tire-wise. Probably just 275/70/17. As for the 1.5" rear springs -- yes, this is what I've come to understand. Although, most (if not all) report that the 1.5" SWAY springs give 2" of lift so the rake is still there.

Just as a FYI, I have the BFG KO 2's in the 34x10.5x17 flavor for over 30,000 miles without any rubbing issues.... this is with the Toytec lift, Toyota TSB suspension performed, Stock TRDP wheels, no spacers.
Also, no suspension clunk since the TSB was performed with multiple single digit mornings this past week.
Please note, the Nitto or Toyo 285x75x17 will be larger than the 34" BFG setup I have and most likely rub with this configuration......

Thats amazing that you do not rub at all. Today I had a set of 255/80/17 cooper st maxx's installed and it almost rubs in the front.

Congrats on your Coop's! those are really good tires, you don't hear about everyday....
Its not amazing, its just knowing how BFG's run on the small side, and banking on thier past history of sounding awesome in size and always coming up short. Sounds like I'm reliving my youth all over again... :boink:
..... I would bet you a fine Colorado beer, that your Coop's, in metric 255's (33's), are almost identical to my 34's in ACTUAL height and width....
Tire mfg's have a general lee-way (spelling?) with their measurements, and all of our trucks have a little tolerance stacking that makes this a very controversial subject.... So, rock the Tall and Anorexics (skinnys), and let them rule the day. Its the widths of the tires that usually kills the plan and introduces a body chop and other surgeries to fit our new super cool shoes....

From my point of view, the kit was one of the first mods I did to my TRDP and I added General Grabber AT2's 285/70/R17 and have never had a rubbing issue...not even close which was proven on a 4K overland trip thru-ought the Western mountain states last summer, however I am also running Bushwhacker fender flares as well which adds some clearance. but don't think it would matter anyway. You will have a rake (not much)with the Superflex but that's what I prefer unloaded. Loaded with gear ..RTT, fridge/freezer, storage, etc.. feels awesome.
I've done quite a bid of mods now and currently run OME 898's and I am completely replacing the stock suspension within the next week or two but just wanted to give my experience with the Toytec kit...I loved it and you will too, if you do not plan to add a ton of weight to your rig in the future...go for it!

Thanks for the info. The differing reports of "no rubbing", "rubbing" running 285's with the Toytec TRD Pro lift makes me think rubbing most likely would occur in certain situations. After doing more research I'd probably opt for the 34x10.5x17's as you get just about a full 2 inches more in diameter over the stock 265's. Fills out the wheel well more. I like the look of yours.
I'm still debating the lift vice just getting mine leveled -- I really like the stance of these trucks when they're leveled. If I do that I'll keep my stock tires as they have a lot of tread left on them.
