Trd pro lift question

Ok, I think that’s the route I’m gonna go. Especially since that will allow me to add a winch bumper later and not deal with too much sag since the coils are 600#. (Atleast from my understanding - correct me if i’m wrong)

What would you do in the rear? To achieve a level look but still lift it. 1.5” coils? 2” coils?

And just to confirm I don’t need the trd pro toytec lift kit, correct? I will still get a lifted truck by only swapping springs?

Also, if I do the spring swap all the way around sill i need new UCA’s? Thank you!

I am pretty sure it is the FJ coils that did the trick.

Ok...I’m definitely going to order the FJPro 14” 600# front coils.

As for the rear, I’ve heard 1.5” SAW coils, 1” eibach coils, or 1.5” cornfed spacers.

Any other opinions for the rear to achieve a level look with the FJPro springs?

To clarify: I want a level look without a bumper and winch since I won’t be adding those for several months. I don’t mind a small bit of rake once I get the bumper.

I have the FJ Pro kit currently installed. This is with just a 3/8" thick tophat spacer up front which gave me about 1/2" lift over the stock Pro suspension. I'm roughly 1.25" lift in the front and 1.5 in the back.

If you want solid offroading capability then stay away from rear spring spacers and replace the stock springs. Do your T4R justice Man! Increase your rear payload by 10% to 15% while having a cushy ride with what I suggested.

Would the FJPro 14" 600# Springs for Front paired with Wheelers OffRoad T13 1.5" Rear Springs be a good combo to achieve a level look and allow for a lo pro bumper + winch later?

I really don't want negative rake either.

Also just to confirm, I can just order the 2 sets of coils and be on my way, correct? Nothing else needed? No UCA's, spacers, etc?

https://downsouthmotorsports.com/i-...er-x-14-length-x-600-lb-rate-spr3-14-600.html Found these, cheaper than FJ Pro Springs but same otherwise. Thoughts?

I'm not sure, another member with that exact setup will have to chime in. That's adding another 100 to 150# to the front end. You have a TRD PRO with 13 inch coils, I upgraded to the FJ TRD pro suspension during the sale that comes with 14 inch coils but I also added other simple mods to provide me more lift. Sure we have different variables being our spring perch is 1 inch in difference and the 80# difference in coil ratings but our suspension as is new we both gained 1 inch of lift from stock 4runners. Locate Weeee he upgraded to taller springs I believe.

I'm not experienced enough with the T13 to have my opinion on those springs, you might want to call Wheelers about that. I read somewhere they give more than 2 inches of lift on a light t4r. There are threads out there discussing the T13 and their ride characteristics, IMO you will look ass high.

I always say get UCAs so your alignment guy can adjust your caster to 3.5 to 4 degrees. It just feels so much better driving higher speeds on the freeway, less drift as well. It's hard to explain unless you test drive two different lifted T4R with and without aftermarket UCAs.

I've seen aftermarket coilover 3x14 springs sold individually for like $75 to $100 for one. But it's wise to speak with the seller or store to know what quantity you will receive. I've seen used TRD FJ springs sell for $100 a pair but they are rare to find. My King #650 that I had powdercoated trd red appears to be a thicker gauge than my current springs I have on now which makes sense since they are 50 pounds higher rated. Again I'm just waiting for the C4 lo pro preface release so I can get the X20 winch off my dining room floor then I will swap out to my King springs. By then I will have more information for everyone.

So back then Toyota released a 2nd gen Tacoma called a Baja TRD edition it had 3"x14" 650# red trd springs with digressive 2.5 inch body bilstein shocks. 2nd gen Tacoma trd pro had 600# 3"x14" with progressive 2.5 Bilsteins. Either one of those springs will also work. Hence where the Toytec Baja spacer lift name came from it was designed for the 2.5" trd Bilstein shock body spring perches.

The Eibachs 1 inch rear springs will give you 1 inch after settling but I do have a 3rd row. My Saws gave me 2 inches. Don't forget to add the OME 10mm trim pack to help with driver side lean.
HAPPY New Year everyone

Can someone post a picture of the front coil post install of the toytec kit? I cant find install instructions and can't find a picture. There maybe one buried in here but didnt see it with a quick search.

I just noticed I have some reverse rake and my front from center of hub to fender is a hair over 24 inches which seems high.

Just want to make sure parts were installed correctly.

Thanks

There is a video on the Toytec site that walks through the install

Ah I guess I missed that part lol. Did you post pictures? I looked back but I don't see them?

I hadn't because I havent been home but was thinking about it from another thread I read. Seems the TRD pro suspension plus the toytec trd pro lift should get you to around 23 inches front hub to wheel well opening. Mine is a hair over 24. I know each one is a bit different but that seems like a bunch, especially if folks are saying over 23 you really need to worry about CV

Yeah stock on a Pro is about 20.75 ish and 23 is about max you want to go before really getting worried about CV angles. Post up a couple pictures of your lower mount and tophat so we can see what's going on.

Oh boy, yeah not right at all. That big thick spacers goes on the bottom not the top. You replace the OEM lower spring seat with the new thick spacer. I would not drive like that period. Fix it before you drive it again.

Watch this video

YouTube

Lovely. Have driven it around a thousand miles so far, and actually has driven well without issues.

I saw that video, they show the perch on the bottom, so I do get that. But I thought there was something on the top as well?

Nope nothing up top besides that thin spacer you have between the top hat and strut mount. You need to put the rubber isolator back in there between the coil and top hat when you have it apart again also.

I read something that said....

Includes front coil spacers which replace the coil perches on the stock shocks. Also includes front top plate spacers with longer studs.

So they need to take out the perch and put it on bottom and add back the rubber spacer? Seems like they may have put both spacers on top.
