Trd pro lift question

That is correct and the kit includes a 20LB new crossmember that gets bolted on. You cannot lower the front Diff without cutting or notching the cross member. There is absolutely no change in the rigidity or flex after 30K miles of Highway, beach and trail driving. I have the piece but honestly I never see myself welding it back on and De-modding this t4r. This is the way I wanted to go and that doesnt mean that there is anything wrong with leveling kits. I just dont consider that a "lift" when you are just pushing down your control arms and loading your springs.

Thanks for the detail.

For you guys with OEM Pro rear shocks, what's the max lift that can safely be run? I'm at 1.5 now, thinking about going to 2" but not sure the OEM shocks are long enough. Really didn't pay attention to how much they had in them when I installed them.

I'm still on the stock rear Pro shocks.. no issues at all and huge amounts of flex. These actually have a higher than average extended length. I still had some travel. I haven't topped any thing out.

The rear is OME 2895E springs and 1.5" rear poly spacer. Rides like stock. A bit firmer, but very comfortable. 8k miles with this rear setup. No issues. Everyone is going to flame me for it, but first, I've tried other setups. This works really well on and OFFROAD. Sometimes you just need to KISS.

I've always had a lift on my trucks, and so I decided the trdpro is something I wouldn't have to touch. However went up to a place I always took my other 3rd gen and noticed the bottom scraped a little where my 3rd gen never did...

That's what got me thinking about it. If I install the daystar kit, how will it affect the trd suspension? Has anyone else done this? or is it just foolish? I know there have been a few trd owners who completely removed the trd and went with icon, but Im really trying to see if I can keep the trd and just add those spacers.......Im torn.

Never been out there yet.....Just keep on LV BLVD till the end?

I’ve wheeled my with and without the Daystar spacers. Without, I was dragging the rear diff hear n there and the skids were rubbing. Didn’t have the funds for a full suspension upgrade so went with the 2.5@ front and 1.5” rear spacers. Next trip out, didn’t rub at all and kept the same factory ride quality.

It’s also about how where you place those tires on the trails.

Also, I’m not TRD Pro, I’m a Trail.

Link to this kit.. I couldn't find it, but might be searching wrong phrases... ~Asking for a friend..

Not necessarily because I want a 6 inch lift, but rather that I would like better geometry.

Here are some pictures as promised. We didnt get the snow that was promised. Tell your friend to DM me because you wont find an off the shelf "Kit". This is not a DIY lift that comes in a box. Take a look at the CV angle and the LCA angles.

Did not realize IRS conversion is a thing.

Toytec or Cornfed? Sorry new to forum and I keep getting the I don’t have permission to post a new topic. I also have a TRD Pro and want a mild lift. Only off-road once in a while and nothing too crazy. Running 275 tires but want to upgrade to 285. I just got my Toytec 2 inch front lift and 1.5 inch rear sway aways via FedEx today. I didn’t consider having the SSO hybrid front bumper without winch would weigh down the front more. After talking to an advisor at Toytec he said I would lose about .5 inch in front lift. So now that now really makes the front and rear lift the same negating any reduction in rake. I noticed Cornfed can do a 2 inch front and 1 inch rear lift. Is this the better way to go? Or will I have reverse rake? Toytec said they didn’t have a 1 inch rear lift. True that I would lose .5 inch in lift due to bumper? As my pro stands now I have roughly 1.5 inch difference in fender height from front to back. Just wondering if I should keep my Toytec or return it for the Cornfed. Thanks

Cornfed 1.5/1” lift

Finally had my Burtman Industries Cornfed Pro spacer Kit installed. 1.5/1”. A big thank you to forum member Tejas for answering my questions and concerns as I replicated his lift and to Jason Burtman for a good deal and information also. Truck seems to handle a little better, nose dive is less and it looks great. Running 275-70-17 KO2’s.

You have improved cornering and nose dive with spacers?

They're preload spacers. They do firm up the front end some and they do improve nose dive. I have the ToyTec version and I could absolutely tell the difference before and after install. I also have poly sway bar bushings though which were a big help so really can't say if the spacers made any kind of additional difference.

Yes. 2016 is correct. Since they add a preload the ride is more positive and there is less felt roll and the nose dive has been decreased.

Looking good! Glad you are happy with the end result! Until the next stage.....lol.

That's hilarious, I logged in to thank Tejas for advice on the same lift. Cornfed's are great- I feel like it does drive better and there is way less nose dive. I'm very happy with the build. This will complete my mods for now- or at least until a supercharger becomes affordable ;)

In black, of course. Lol. I don’t think you’re completely finished with mods. Looks great lol. Tejas will be back with a BP51 kit with 295’s on SCS wheels.

Using the same red shackles too. Did you paint or powder coat your skid plate? Was considering doing mine. Mine came with the 2019 version with red inlays. I also added gloss black lugs.

I know a Line-X guy who did the skidplate. My experience with painting is it gets dinged pretty quick and you're constantly touching up. The shackles I found online and are functional plus look great with the springs
