Trd pro lift question

Finally had my Burtman Industries Cornfed Pro spacer Kit installed. 1.5/1”. A big thank you to forum member Tejas for answering my questions and concerns as I replicated his lift and to Jason Burtman for a good deal and information also. Truck seems to handle a little better, nose dive is less and it looks great. Running 275-70-17 KO2’s.
Hey TRD Panther, your rig looks great with the Cornfed 1.5/1" and 275-70-17 KO2’s! I have a 2018 TRD Pro and am pretty sure that's the same set-up I'm going to go with. Just a couple questions: (1) Did you have to do any fender or front mud-flap mods to accommodate the tires? (2) I assume, no new upper control arms needed with only the 1.5", but did you need to get a front-end alignment after lifting and was it easy to get w/in specs?

I'm not planning to do extreme off-roading, but just want to level it out w/o having to do fender, UCA, or mud flap mods or risk 285's on the factory 7" rims (I have little kids:)...

Thanks. No fender trim or mud flap removal. TRD Pro comes with fender liner mod at the port plus the extra 1” factory height up front was no problem with the 275’s before lift. I had an alignment done after the lift with no issues. Factory UCA’s.

Looking for a little guidance or help.

I recently bought a used TRD Pro suspension set locally for my SR5. I originally was going to buy Bilstein 5100 to level out my 4runner but i got too good of a deal on the TRDP suspension. All i am looking to do is level out my SR5. With the supposed 1" lift in the front, would the 4runner be level enough?

i do also have cornfed's 3/4 spacer for the front and a 1" spacer for the rear that i am debating on installing. Would the 3/4 front spacer suffice? or should i install both spacers with the TRDP suspension?

TRD Pro suspension provides 3/4" up front and will level your SR5 It also rides significantly better than the OEM SR5 suspension.

So installing the 3/4 spacer without the 1" spacer in the rear would give me some reverse rake?

Yep! How thick physically are the spacers? If the spacer is actually 3/4" thick, it will lift the front 1.5" Just the way IFS geometry works. Also, is this a top hat spacer or is this a preload spacer? They both work in different ways. Pictured is my 2016 with a 1.5" spacer in the back, Pro suspension, 3/8" thick top hat spacer up front. Front and back are 1.5" higher than stock SR5

I havent measured either spacer yet. But the front is a top hat spacer.

So in theory after adding both spacers and trd pro suspension, im looking at 1.5 in the front and 1 in the rear total? So i would have just a tiny bit of rake.

That's correct. In the picture I posted, those are 295/70/17 Ridge Grapplers with no rubbing. I did do the fender liner mod but no body mount chop required. This is street use, I'm sure if I flexed it out off road it would rub.

That 3/4" Cornfed UHMV spacers is the dimension of a spring preload spacer. So now we need to confirm if you are preloading the 4runner trd pro spring 3x13" which I think is 520#, someone correct me if im wrong.

If it's the fj trd kit then it's 3×14" 600#, which was my previous front end I preloaded with a 3/4" Wheeler's rubber isolator spacer. With an additional 1/2" cornfed top plate spacer on this setup you would sit pretty level with a 1.5" rear spacer. I run rear SAW 1.5" rear springs and it gave me a little over 2" rear lift for a tad rake. I would consider ucas with this option.

A TRD FJ pro setup 3"x14" 600# with just a 1 inch Cornfed preload spring spacer will give you a whooping 38" ground to fender on stock wheel & 265 tires.

If you have the TRD 4runner pro lift another option is to omit spacers and go with taller 3"x14" springs from the FJ kit or other brand that size just figure out your spring weight but keep future mods in mind. I read in the other thread guys getting 2 inch of lift.

The 3/4" front Cornfed top hat spacer measures 3/8" thick. That provides 3/4" of lift. Those rubber wheelers spacers are junk, stay away from them. If you want to preload, go with the ToyTec aluminum spacer. With the TRD Pro kit, the ToyTec preload spacer, and the 3/8" thick Cornfed top hat spacer, I gained 2.5" over stock SR5 suspension.

Ok physical size

With the geometry of an IFS suspension, the lift yield is twice the thickness of the top hat spacer. So a 1/2" thick top hat spacer will provide 1" of lift. A 1.5" thick top hat spacer will add 3" of lift. The 3/8" thick top hat spacer adds 3/4" of lift which is pretty perfect with the Pro suspension and a 1.5" rear spacer. Retains some rake and plenty of room for larger tires. Keeps a low COG and looks great IMO

I used the 1/2" physical size cornfed spacer before and understand what you are saying. I never heard of David at cornfed selling a 3/4" physical size top hat spacer. Ok sorry for the confusion.

He doesn't sell 3/4" physical size spacers. The 3/8" physical size spacers provide the 3/4" lift. They will however make you any custom size spacer you want.

Can you elaborate on why you don't recommend the rubber spacers?

Having trouble justifying the cost of the toytecs ($150) over poly wheelers ($40).

Because they collapse and deform. They do not hold up well over time. There are a bunch of complaints on this page about them. You would be better off looking at the Cornfed preload spacer which is like the ToyTec spacer but goes on top of the coil rather than below it and does the same thing. Make sure you look at the spacer made for the pro suspension, it's not the same as the spacer for the other OEM shocks.

Interesting. JAs been running the for 5+ years without any deformation.

Which post are you referring to?

Saw it a long time ago, i don't remember and don't care to search it. Fact remains, a chunk of aluminum will last forever, a chunk of rubber will not. I get what you're saying about the difference in cost, it's a big difference. IMO, do it right and do it once. The ToyTec spacers come up for sale from time to time, I recently sold a spare set I had for $110 shipped so deals are out there. Cornfed 1.5" front and 1" rear as a kit is $119 under PN 5G4RPRO-1510 If you only want the front, email them and they will make you anything you want. I have ordered custom spacers from them before and I have never been disappointed with their products.

Gotcha. I'm actually been talking to them now.

They're not willing to make me a 2.5" front spacer. I'm going for a 3/2.25(ish) lift.

Any guesses why?

Update: Cornfed doesn't recommend spacer lifts above 2" for the TRD suspension, which in hindsight makes sense given suspension spacers aren't great lift solutions in the first place.
