If I want to do anything about the gap between the skid and the bumper.

I put the TRD on the scale at it was 20lbs which is 9lbs lighter than the Bud Built I had on my 4th gen. In the 10 years I had my BB, I never had a chance to test them out so I can live with the TRD since I will only be using it to push snow in my driveway.

Parts department told me the bumper with TOYOTA badge is around $380. He didn't know if it came painted or not, said it might require the mesh grill as separate piece to buy.

The center bolt does make contact with the skid, I think one day, I am goin to pull it down and replace that or all bolts with button head socket screws. That will give that piece a more finished look since it will never be removed!!!

Did he say it was the entire bumper cover? I thought an actual owner said it was just a black cover piece. I was hoping it was a black trim piece, and the upper grille is a separate piece. I asked the parts manager at the Toyota dealer I used to work at to look into it, so we'll see if she comes back with he same info.

It is. IIRC the upper grill piece comes prepainted, at least on the non trdpro models, and the lower part is just a cover. $380 for those two pieces sounds about right

From what I can tell, looking at mine, the painted upper grille does not need to be changed. I thought the black bar with thr "TOYOTA" logo was just a cover that slipped over the middle painted bar in the grille. Then, the top black portion of the stock grill (the mesh part) would have to be replaced with one specific to the TRD Pro. So, I was just thinking it's just a black mesh grille and a black logo trim piece. Any other thoughts?

Did you have to remove the metal bushing to get the front bolts to reach the frame? Can't seem to get mine to catch the treads.

Edit: never mind I figured it out, didn't realize th bushing fit in the slot.

Just a heads up, I tried to order the TRD skid plate this morning from a known and reputable dealer and I received this reply after ordering:

so what skid plate are they using on the 2015 Toyota TRD Pro 4Runners w/ KDSS ???

There are no "production" 2015 Toyota TRD Pro 4Runners w/ KDSS !

The one's you saw on the videos and pictures were prototypes or concepts while developing the TRD Pro 4Runners.
