TRD PRO Windshield

Just had a State plow dust me with rocks as it passed and took out my windshield. In case any of you are wondering, replacement cost for the windshield is about $680.00. Sucks since this truck is brand new....

Your insurance carrier doesn't have full windshield replacement as part of their insurance? I thought that was pretty much a given anymore? Otherwise, that price sounds about right for a replacement windshield insurance claim.

Yes it sucks, but with the condition of the roads in most of our states windshield damage seems to be a fact of life anymore. I'm driving around with 6 different stone chips in mine, all received within the first 6 months of ownership. I count it as part of the cost of doing business in the oilfield with all its attendant truck and dirt road traffic.

I know it is just me. However, if I had a TRD PRO it would be sitting in the climate controlled garage looking shiny and new for a very long time. I wouldn't buy one for a daily driver. It would strictly be a pleasure vehicle.

I also know from experience that cars/trucks are a poor investment.

On the flip side…on those days I was to drive it, I would drive it like a boss. And it wouldn't be snowing outside.

Driving in snow is fun!

Why not post this in the windshield thread that was last posted in only two days ago?

Because it's a TRD PRO. They're special and deserving of their own topics. :behindsofa:

Sorry Fireside. Had to go there. It does suck your windshield was broken so soon after purchase.

No really, that's what I was wondering from some other comments and threads. I'm going to go read a TRD Pro exhaust tip install write up now.

On a serious note, does suck about OPs windshield.

What, your in California! Sand maybe.

Yes I'm in California but I go wheelin' in Tahoe and Oregon!!! Below is a pic of my rig when I first bought it (completely stock). Took it to Crater Lake when it was snowing heavily.

I'm not trying to make fun of you or anything. Just saying that you should definitely enjoy the truck and get some dirt on her. Hope you see my point sir.

Please make fun. The interweb is a place I go to relax and have a good time. Never Serious. I did spend a year in Orange County (LA) back in 1979. Good times.
