So I bought a TRD supercharger w/7th injector tonight, ill add pictures below of exactly what it comes with. It does come with the tensioner and manifold gasket but i don't believe they are in the pictures. The things that i know I'm needing are new belt, and fuel pump, I'm unsure whether to get the warblo 190 or 255?? I do plan on doing the 2.2 pulley but maybe not for a little while. Which fuel pump do you guys recommend running? Am I fine with my stock injectors with? Do i need to get oil for it? I would like to do the install myself, are there any tools that i will need to order to complete this install? Also after I install it am I going to need to tune it or should it run correctly if installed correctly and run 91 octane fuel?? Anyone in So Cal area that would like to help install that has completed this before?

Sorry for all the questions :typing:

I don't have a new fuel pump but what I've read is that most people go with the 190.

As for fuel injectors you will be fine with your stock ones since you have the 7th injector. I took mine out and sent them to WitchHunter performance to have them checked and cleaned. They charge $22 an injector.

I say go for the 2.2 right away since you have the 7th injector. I wouldn't run it without the 7th. It's only $95 more dollars.

Oil is kinda hard. Since you bought it used it looks like, then if you don't how it wasn't taken care of, it might be smart to. But if you turn it and everything sounds good you would probably be fine not to. The supercharger looks pretty clean so you could be fine.

Installation is pretty easy. The instructions do a pretty good job of showing you how to install it. All you need is some metric sockets and a socket wrench and probably some longer extensions. And a couple wrenches for the throttle body cables.

Since you have the 7th injector, URD says that comes pretty well tuned for the majority of users. It wouldn't hurt to get it really tuned in but you would probably be fine to run it as is for a while. And yes use 91 gas.

Thanks for the response, I just ordered the 190 fuel pump and the 2.2 pulley and supercharger belt. Hopefully that is everything I need. I would hate to have it torn apart and find out im missing a bolt or something stupid. Wish me luck ;)

Based on the pictures above you are missing the tensioner bracket and bolts. I really hope they are just not pictured because they are not sourceable besides the complete tensioner kit which is about $250. Also you will have to splice wires and solder them in for the 7th, so if you don't have experience with that then find someone who does. You don't want to goober up the ECU at all. I would suggest getting some new oil before putting it on and pending the mileage I would replace the coupler in the supercharger as they tend to wear out over time and very easy to replace.

So true about the tensioner bolt. The SC that I bought is missing that flat head bolt, holy crap that thing is impossible to find. I'll probably be ordering the $250 kit next week, all for a $5.00 bolt.

Ya i sure hope everything is there, The Truck shop in san diego wants $1500 to install everything! Good Hell! No thank you, sure hope i can get it figured out!

Good call lol. It doesnt' take much lol I can have mine pulled off my truck in less than an hour now lol. When you said supercharger they were probably like "this guy has cash" lol.

Crazy part is first he told me $500-$600 once I told him with 7th injector and fuel pump it went up to $1500, it just seemed like a bit much for a 6-8 hour job if that.

I added a supercharger (no pulley upgrade) to my 2002 w/160k last year. No new fuel pump, no 7th injector. Runs great, no pinging even accelerating up the mountain roads, running 91 octane. My mechanic said there should not be any issues with the fuel system on the late 3rd gens (he had to make changes to his wife's 96).

The one caution was to make certain to service the nose cone every 30k. At the time he did mine, he had another one in that had not been serviced...looked like someone took a sledge hammer to it.

The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank from my understanding. Are you going to be able to handle that?

You should be able to find local Socal help for the SC install, but the fuel pump you may want to pay a mechanic if you aren't comfortable.
cencyc, the 'no 7th injector' thing is a bit more unique to our elevation in CO and other rocky mountain states. OP may not have that option with Socal elevation.

Hi Amalik!

I have a SC, no fuel / injector upgrade. I live in Lakewood, CO. And wanted to know why we don't really need that in high elevation state? Thanks!

Without getting too complicated, as you rise in elevation the air is less dense. Air has weight (very little) and is pulled down by gravity to lower elevations. So for someone like me at like 200 ft elevation, the air coming into my engine is denser that the air coming in at your elevation (guessing about 6000 ft?). More air means more fuel also needs to be added.

However, that also means I will have more HP gain from a supercharger and more boost since my air at sea level is denser than yours at high elevation. So it's a trade off.

Oh thats very interesting!! I come from level 0 too but just moved in Colorado. (and yes, about 4500/5000ft down the city and up to 12k ft on the trails.

Do you think the elevation is acting up on fuel grade as well?

I don't think it affects fuel or octane or anything like that. Might cause your engine to run leaner due to the thinner air though, but probably not a whole lot.
