Treadlife on OE Dunlop AT20s?

Our 2016 Trail has ~14,900 miles on it and we're at 2/32" - 3/32" remaining tread on the stock Dunlop AT20 tires. These tires are worn evenly, and have been rotated every 5k, with receipts.

These tires have been garbage from the get-go, but while I was shopping for replacements that are actually worth a damn, I came across Dunlop's "60k tread life warranty" on their AT20 series tire. That was printed right above the fine print stating that this warranty does NOT apply to OE fitted tires. Boo.

My question: Is anyone actually coming close to 60k on theirs?

Follow up: anyone had any luck with Toyota or Dunlop with tires that wear prematurely?

I have over 20K on mine right now and I'm looking for an excuse to get rid of them, but I still have 9/32" of tread left. They have been wearing well and I've only managed to get stuck once off road with them...and that had more to do with getting high centered then the actual traction. I think that the wear you are experiencing is unusually fast.

I replaced mine at 35k with Toyo AT2s. They had enough tread left to get a price reduction trade in from a local tire shop.

I ran them in soft sand and rocky trails with no problems but I usually aired down.

I have 32k on my 15 with OE Dunlops and about another 5-10k left of tread. Not waiting for them to wear out, replacing tomorrow with BFG KO2's or Cooper AT3's

I think I did about 10~20k on the AT20's that came with my 4th gen (had been replaced before being sold, so they were new) and they had 8/32" left on them.

The AT20's are SOFT tires, I forget what the tread wear rating is. I noticed it's not as readily used as it used to be, I wonder if the quick wear is part of the reason.

I think I got 30k miles out of those garbage tires.

One time I was at a pumpkin farm with the kids, on a hill in wet grass spinning all 4 tires hopelessly trying to get to a parking spot. The woman behind me in a minivan calmly drove right around me and parked. True story.

Op- I've got close to 40k on mine and they are in similar shape to yours. I plan to replace them in the next week or two. While I didn't expect these tire to be great, I would say your experience is uncommon. It wouldn't hurt talk to the dealer.

They are crap tires, like most OE tires. Chosen because they were cheap, quiet and smooth.

I keep telling myself I should keep them on for at least a few thousand miles, but I want some BFG KO2s...

OP, I'd talk to the dealer, see what their take is on them....

Otherwise, go buy some good tires.

I got 44,000 on those and they are done. Cant complain about them, they did okay, not getting them again. Def not a 4Runner worthy tire. Looking at Cooper Discoverer STT Pro.

I have 41k on mine and they're still at 5/32. However, I'm switching to KO2's next weekend. The Dunlops are getting a little slick in wet pavement.

OP, consider yourself lucky that you didn't have to suffer with the Dunlops long before having to upgrade to a decent tire. I had 39K miles of the stock Dunlops when I dumped them for some Cooper AT3s. The Dunlops still had 5-6/32s of tread on them, but I justified the upcoming winter to myself as a reason to get new tires.
