Trouch screen problem

Gadget

official vendor
Ref 2010 4Runner Trail with the JBL/Nav system.

While wheeling yesterday the touch screen lost its calibration. When touched it would select the button 3" away from where I touched. Then it seemed to stop working all together.

I remove the battery terminal to attempt to reset it, but no dice.

I did a search and did not find anything, but before I rip it out and replace it, has anyone seen this before and is there some secret master reset or something? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Oh have I. 2014 four radios all with that same problem. Traded it for new 17 Limited, 18 months later touch screen is way off. New radio lasted6 months. They now tell me my cell phone isn't compatible with the screen. More specifically, the digitizer screen. Getting my 7th radio in 7 years next week, but bought a new iPhone 11.
I have found no one that can tell me how this happens. I would love to know how this is happening. What other signals interfere with the screens? There is no way to recalibrate the screen, just get a new one at $1500 to $2000 each.
